A deletion is a deletion, and a list of them should be complete as possible. If you want to let me know which ones are inaccurate as they pertain to the 2010 4Runner when it was originally released, let me know and I can update as long as I can confirm it. Otherwise nothing much I can do.

Why would it only matter when it was originally released? If they added it back later, thus fixing the deletion, I don't feel that deserves to be on a list. It may appear misleading to those who don't realize it was brought back. JMO.

Were is the list of missing stuff on the 5th, I want to print it out and tape it to my dash so I can read it and weep everytime I get behind the wheel of my 5th. Toyota builds different model 4R to suite different types of people.I purchased an SR5 over a Trail because I wanted heated leather seats and painted wheel arches. I did not care about KDSS suspension or Xreas or push button start.I had an 05SE and upgraded because I liked the way the 5th fit me so much better.The XRease in my 4th made the vehicle ride rough
and when the xreas components start to go bad I did not want to worry about spending tons of money replacing the shocks @ $1200 each.Sure I might upgrade my suspension or just the shocks in the future but I can tell you that I do not regret trading in my 4th on a 5th at all !!
I also looked at the previous window sticker of my 05SE compared to my 2011 SR5, yea I had to pay for cargo bars and few other things that came std with my 05, but the sticker price was not that much different for a vehicle that is six years newer.

Exactly.... what are the options? Some people have had good luck with a GC, Explorer or Durango, but most have not. If you want to lease or plan to trade every 3 years, maybe there is a good argument to go that direction.

Our 05 SE is going on 7 yrs -- we will keep it at least for 3 more yrs, or until we have to get a solar car..

BTW -- I still cannot figure out the 'sloppy' comment that I have seen on various threads -- I have not noticed this at all. Maybe I would understand this if my other car was a BMW. And, I am still running the Duncraps.

Yeah, I tried the "Its a Jeep thing" and I just didn't get it, my 99' GC was in the shop as much as it was on the road. Chevy and Ford make nothing to compare to. Landrover?...never been a fan. Pathfinder/Extera?......Maybe,.. but they are U.S. built now and are under French managment? No Thank you. Did I miss any? Not much left to choose from.

Comment was meant to imply the list is for 2010 changes and not years after that (2011). Toyota very rarely makes mid year changes to the 4R. If you know of some, let us know too.

Not sure if it matters, but I could say that Canadian 4Runners have standard running boards and don't have puddle lights or turn signals in side mirrors.

Without reading 8 pages of posts, has anyone summarized the additions to the 5th gen not found on the 4th gen?

I'm no expert, but I see the following:
1. more metal/weight
2. blinkers integrated in morrors
3. Synthetic oil
4. bigger tires
5. backup camera
6. Satellite radio
7. 5 speed auto instead of 4 speed
8. manumatic shift
9. A-trac
10. More airbags
11. standard hitch
12. More HP and Torque
13. homelink
14. and the list goes on and on with puddle light, spoiler, party mode, park assist

Admittedly many of these are guesses. And I assume the comparison is 2003 to 2010 rather than 2009 to 2010.

I'll be the first to admit my SR5 is a ho-hum ride even with the factory leather and whatever, but the 4th gen was never a consideration for me after sitting in one. I think the haters are just hating cuz they are in a earlier gen.

It is little things like no pull strap to close the hatch that was deleted that my wife needs because she is short. When we looked at the Grand Cherokee it has a electric hatch lift and my wife fell in love with the electric tilt and telescope steering with memory. She also wants the Jeep suspension that can raise and lower itself without needing a lift like I have no so she can get in easy. I really want to stay with Toyota, I just wish they would give us more options. I like the limited but do not want 20" wheels. I also like the trail but I demand auto temp and torsen dif. Just give me more options to build the model I want.

small things, like a strap are easy to add after.

The air suspension is a nice feature. I've been looking at the GC as well, but their quality reputation is terrible, and after going on Jeep forums and seeing the number of issues people are ALREADY having, particularly with the air suspension, I just dont think I could buy a chrysler. Would Be fine while its still under warranty, but air suspension issues out of warranty = Mega $$. Not to mention resale value...

I was considering a GC Overland Summit before I bought my Limited, so I got on Jeepgarage.com and watched the WK2 forums for a few months, and the number of issues that just that small sampling of owners are having is just staggering. And those guys are the fanboys that usually don't complain, they just say "It's a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand". I understand not having the use of my $40K+ SUV because it's in the shop. Chrysler is still the same company, selling the same crap.

I have an 07 Sport Edition v8 4wd. I like the power of the 8 but I think the 2012 LE is much more refined. Its a personal choice. I think the bigger question is the GX460 better than the LE. I was underwhelmed by the Lexus at $20K+ more. The 6 speed on the Lexus with the V8 seemed more anemic than the V6 on the LE. I think people don't realize the additional gears totally change the feel of the vehicles between 4th and 5th gen. Drive the Lexus and I think you'll think the 4.6L V8 isn't all that.

Yep, let's just all lay them out on the table to measure once and for all. I don't care if the 4th G was made of solid gold and had rubies for bearings and diamond studded tires because there is one thing the 5th G has that the 4th G does not - headroom. I physically did not fit unless I laid the seat down and drove with a periscope. It was apparently designed for the 5' to 5'10" 100-180 lb person, not the 6'4" 250+ crowd.

I agree. The previous gen could have crawled up the side of a cliff and lasted one million miles without even an oil change; but it would have not done me any good since I cannot fit comfortably in it. Nothing worst than my head being next to the roof and my legs crammed against the dash for a nice long ride. That is the reason I had to go with my explorer in the first place instead of the 4runner sitting on the lot that I really wanted.

Now that the 5th gen is out, with plenty of room, I am getting one!

I looked very hard at the Lexus choice before going to the Limited 4runner. I was in the 2010 SR5 and I missed a lot of the creature features. I liked the GX series, but didn't like the lack of large center console, HATED THAT THE REAR WINDOW DOESN'T ROLL DOWN (yeah, hated it that much), and while I could have lived with the barn door (probably), I was NOT going to live with the integrated nav and temp controls. So I had to find a white one with low miles, no nav, etc... In the end, I stuck with the 4runner (white, limited) and I couldn't be happier. I should have done that in the first place with the black sr5, but eh, it happens
