prewired fog lights

I've heard all the time that 4runners are prewired. I was also told so at the meet...

so how can you tell? I've searched with no luck.

I checked yotatech and I saw that there is already wires usually, just an added fuse and switch are required.

I have a fuse already in the fog light slot, which is odd, but I can't seem to find any indication of a prewired harness or anything.

help? I'd prefer a photo... of anyones got one thanks

I'm Interested in knowing as well.

if you go look right behind the bumper there should be a plug hanging there right behind where the fogs lights would be.

My 97 wasn't as I was just messing around with the wiring yesterday and noticed that they were crimped into the factory wires...

As was stated, look next to your turn signals where the fogs would be and you should see a plug hanging there. But that does not mean all you need is the switch and fuse. I bought the factory fog kit from PP years ago for my 00 3rz Runner and the plugs were there, so I bought the kit for the pre wired trucks. Mine lacked the fuse, but the biggest issue was that I was supposed to take the main harness under the dash and the wire I needed was supposed to be there, I just had to splice into it. Well as it turns out, on my 2.7 at least, the wire was not in the harness and there was nothing to splice to, of course I should have checked first but seeing the plug I just assumed.

well I see no plug (figures...)

damn this base ass piece of shit

I should have researched 4runners before I wasted my life with this thing

I could have saved some more cash and got an sr5 4x4 w/ locker or something.

not even... i know its not hard, it just absolutely sucks ass to have the shittiest available 4Runner.

At least you have the option of installing some decent OEM fogs for your year. I'm stuck with a 97 where you can't find them anymore as they were discontinued and no company seeems to make anything close.

I don't even consider my fogs "fogs" anymore. They are more just like an additional light on the truck that has absolutely no purpose. Light quality is terrible, interior reflective is gone, but I need them to "work" to pass inspection.
