Price expectations on new SR5

Just curious what some of you paid for a 4x4 SR5 (non trail)? I went to the local dealer the other day just to see how much they would budge and I couldn't get damn near anything out of them. They had one of them listed for 35999 and the salesman told me they couldn't give more than a couple hundred off. I've been seeing some posts of people mentioning what they paid and it seems crazy this is the best they can do. So I'm wondering what you guys paid for a regular 4x4 SR5 and how you were able to haggle with them. I can't say I have much haggling experience.

Depending on method of payment you should be able to get 2-2.5 off. I got 1800 off of our Camry just a 25.5k list car. I had a trade with the 4r so the numbers aren't legit on that purchase. My 4R was also 35,800 sticker.

Local dealer has internet price of
SR5 - 33,656.
SR5 Premium - 35,865.

Seems your dealer has some room to move.

A number of other threads on this, but something to consider is the fact that auto sales have had a significant uptick with gas prices going down (as have home mortgages and other things) so dealers might be feeling like they dont need to be quite as aggressive on pricing. More disposable income and less concern about SUV gas Mileage. I'd be interested to see the average number of days all 4Runner trim models are sitting on the lot now vs. prior 6 months. Would bet the number is going down monthly. Having said that, you will find a dealer to give 5% off at a minimum. Good friend of mine just bought a black SR5 last week in FL and he said they gave him a good deal.

Where in northern CA are you? That will make a difference for sure. We pay what seems to be a premium, based upon others who post their prices from other parts of the country. If you are a serious buyer and want a good deal, I am very good friends with a local dealerships GM, here in Fresno. If you are looking for a deal, he will be very upfront and generous with pricing. If he needs to pull the vehicle from another dealership inventory, he will do the deal for $750 above invoice. If he has the 4Runner on the lot, it will be much less. Hit me up if you really want to do the deal. He can even pull the 4Runner from the lot you were quoted at and save you quite a bit.

A few notes:
Since just before Christmas, dealer stock, for at least CA, has not been replenished. It is nearly impossible to get 4Runners or Highlanders for any (at least) CA dealer. Dealer trade with a dealer that has one? Forget it, if you do not have like for like vehicle to trade, SOL. This is why OP's dealer isn't budging on price, A: They have no clue when more will show up, so they must hold out for most money on available stock, and B: Supply and Demand.. They can ask and hold the premium price on what they have on hand because hey, try to go elsewhere, you will not find it!

My friend made a commitment to OP, and will try to allocate a unit that fits his needs without pulling from someone else's stock and driving up the $$. Once Toyota catches up, I'm sure OP will be happy to have waited while saving $$$.

Those $1.79 a gal. signs you've been looking at for awhile will eventually have the leading 1 replaced with a 4 or >.

When that happens, people who drive poor mpg vehicles will be lined up fighting over Prius'. Dealer lots will be full of Tundras/4Runners/etc.

I just got my SR5 non premium non 3rd row, non cargo tray with Entune and Navi for 34,200. MSRP was 35,875. My maf skillz tell me thatz 4.7 percent off...which was a fair deal I'd say. Use true car you'll see around where you should be.
