Price for a new 4Runner

I am in the market to buy a new 4Runner. I bought a 1998 4Runner and put 320k miles on it before I totalled it a few months ago. I miss "Old Dog" bad. What a great SUV it was.

I am not sure which model to go with but my last one was a Limited 4WD. I guess I am leaning towards a Limited but the Trail model looks cool too. The SR5 would be last on the list.

What can I expect to pay for a Limited 4WD, Trail, and SR5 (the last two with similar upgrades as the Limited). Also, is the NAV a pain the rear like in the Tundra's where you have to come to a complete stop before you can enter an address? If so, I'll pass on the NAV.

I love the way some of you have put the small lift and/or Bilsteins on your trucks. How much does that affect your gas mileage?

And finally, which one of these models should have the best re-sale value? Thanks for your help!

I would start with Edmunds invoice and work for that. In 2011, I was able to get alot lower then Invoice. I think the TE will have the best resale value because they are in short supply, not many made. The limited will give you full time 4wd vs part time 4wd but your 98 I think was probably part time 4wd. I added Billys 5100's and raised the front, will do the rear later, small lift. I also added Firestone Dest. AT at the same time. I lost a very little amount on mpg's but I doubt that was the billys or small lift, more the tires. I also went up a size, 275's. I think I only lost
5 to 1mpg at best. Good luck!

Thanks! What kind of MPG are you getting now? Do you have more pictures? I also want a roof rack like you have. More pictures of that?

Just picked up my 2012 SR5 4x4 with sunroof and sliding rear cargo for 33600 before tax/tag/title and dealer fee...about 2000 below msrp from Rountree-Moore Toyota in Lake City FL.

I paid 34,500 for a Blizzard Pearl SR5 4wd with convenience package (roof, sport seats), rear camera w auto dim mirror, running boards, 3M hood protection, mud flaps, tint, floor mats and locks. Plus they gave me xlnt condition kbb trade in on my F150. I was happy.

That's the TE rack, comes standard, I have a Yakima load warrior on it now because of camping.....worked out great this wkd. Without the yak I get 19.5 to 20 mpg....that's mixed driving. Did you see my pics posted on thread regarding 5100's?

I paid about 31.7k all said and done, no trade back in 3/11 for new 2011, seems like most are paying around 33-34k for my model....non-kdss...couldn't find one in 3 states.

Ramzey....I am going to go with the 5100's in the front as well. Your review sold me. Regarding the '12 models, they've most likely had a price hike. Dollar is very weak against the yen. Hovering around 80 yen/dollar now.

I just bought my SR5 saturday. It has the premium package which includes leather, moon roof, nav, 3rd row, etc.....I was able to get tint, rubber mats, cargo bars, and auto start for 37,300. I shopped many dealers in several states and none of them would budge very much on price and options.

Hey taco which dealership did you buy from?

I got my '11 Limited for $39,200 w/Nav. In retrospect I coulda done without the Nav, but I do like the Sirius/XM.
