so about that.....

Prinsu 7/8

Has anyone purchased the 7/8 roof rack from Prinsu, or have seen it in person? I am curious what the wind noise is like.

I seems to have narrowed down my choice to this rack or the FrontRunner.

I'm looking for something aluminum and low profile.

Questions that I'm hoping someone can answer:

1) Does the full or 7/8 rack work with a moon roof?
2) Does the Gobi or Bajarack Ladder clear in the back?

Thanks!

1) Yes the full length does. You just need to place your crossbars so that they miss the opened sunroof. I have one just behind, and one nearer the middle, and can open with no problems.

2) I have the Gobi ladder with my full-length Prinsu rack, and it clears just fine.

Thanks Steve, I think this is the move more me. Is there a bar in front of the sunroof as well? Any pics?

My estimated ship date was originally Oct 3. I didn't do black crossbars, went with the clear ones, they said it'd ship much sooner if i didn't go with the black crossbars. But we shall see when it actually shows up how accurate their dates are.

They told me if i wanted clear crossbars, it can ship.. yesterday.

Black crossbars they are expecting next week supposedly.

I ordered it with black crossbars for a reason.

Well obviously, you don't order 900$ worth of rack without a reason:plane:

I asked about switching to black crossbars and they said it'll take longer because they get bought faster, i'm thinking well if i already paid and ordered then i have them reserved essentially so........lol

kinks that still need to be worked out.. in this transition

They should have order the bars i needed.. 9 weeks ago when i placed the order with them.

yep thats exactly my line of thinking. the bars they use aren't that special, anyone can order them online. Now idk if they are cut to a certain size? or thats the standard size they come in? is the threaded parts threaded all the way through so you can cut them to size and not worry about re tapping threads etc.

I ordered my rack in at the end of March, received it at end of July. Very long wait time, but it's well worth it.
