Pro Comp 7005 wheels

Can anyone confirm if the following wheel works on A 4th generation 4runner
and will they clear Upper Control arms with a 285/70r17 or will spider trax spacers be needed in addition? I have searched and found a couple 3Rd generations running them. Does anyonyone have these?

No, but that's one of my top choices right now. I would be looking at a 255/75/17 or 265/70/17 though. I'd prefer not to run spacers due to the rub they seem to cause on the fender and mudflap.

mark (mcl_68) over on t120.com has these. he has wheel spacers on them. they look great and he says he has little to no rubbing

No, but that's one of my top choices right now. I would be looking at a 255/75/17 or 265/70/17 though. I'd prefer not to run spacers due to the rub they seem to cause on the fender and mudflap.

I meant I'd prefer not to run wheel spacers. Suspension spacers would be good for some lift.

I have the 17x8 with 265/70's, they fit! Slight rubbing on the mud flaps, but not a big deal! The 4.5" backspace brings the wheel just outside of the flares! I'm not running wheels spacers either!

You want NON HUBCENTRIC wheels!

Extra thread lugs are a good idea, check out the e.t. Ultra spline drive lugs from wheelersoffroad.com. They're made by gorrilla!

I used this wheel offset calculator to determine that a 17x8 wheel with 0mm offset like yours is pushed out 1.5 inches from stock:

This seems similar to those who are running wheel spacers and stock rims. Your pictures look great and the wheels seem to fill out the fenders without sticking out. There's a wheel that I like only available in 17x8.5 with 0mm offset, but I'm reluctant to get it because the calculator indicates that it would stick out an extra 1/2 inch beyond your setup. If your tires already rub the mudflap, that 8.5 might not be a good idea. Did you move the fender liner? Did you trim the mudflap at all? Your lift is equivalent to a 3/2, ya? Does it rub under street conditions or only when flexing offroad?

I don't want to start a huge debate, but I've read both sides as far as hub-centric vs non. There doesn't seem to be consensus on this topic. Why did you personally avoid hub-centric?

No I didn't need move the fender liner, jus trim the inside of the mud flap! The wheels rubbed on flat street driving when turning at full lock, other than that the wheels fit great no issues. The pro comps do stick out probly 3/4-1".

As for hub centric vs non hub centric, the pro comp hub centric wheels are made to fit a GM hub which is quite a bit smaller than the Toyota hub. Plus pro comp said they will not fit and the non hub centric are the correct wheels for the 4r.

Wow, thanks for the response. It sure did take a little while but now it looks like a couple people like running these wheels in a 17X8.. I am still debating on running this wheel in the 17X9 or 17X8. The 17X8 will push it just out beyond the fender flares on an earlier 4th Gen similar to SpiderTrax spacers widening the track about 3 inches. The 17X9 with a -6 offset should push it a little further then that and also increase the track by another inch or so but what about the extra .25 on the backspace increase? What is the differance in backspace between the them 4.50 / 4.75? I am also looking at a couple XD series wheels but it will be a while B-4 i can get a lift and new wheels/tires.

I am searching for second set of wheels , but my problems is that I haven't data how much offset is on OEM wheels 17 7.5 JJ . Probably for you is easy to find, bur here in Poland no. So if you can answer I will be very glad about this

I have not personally measured them, but every resource I've checked says the stock offset is 30mm on the 17x7.5 rim.

I should have my set of Pro Comp 7005's (17X8) on Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's (265/70/R17) tomorrow... I have a set of FJ Springs coming but still need to order the 5100 shocks. I have been debating on installing the wheels ASAP or waiting until I have the 5100s so that I can install everything at once then get an alignment done at the same time.
