All,
Have owned my 2014 SR5 for about a month now. Has about 1000 miles on it. This is primarily my wife's truck.
Tonight when I came home, I opened the garage door and heard something lightly "buzzing" inside. Spent about 5 minutes troubleshooting - I was looking at things in the house that might be causing it, but came back to find it was the 4Runner, which she had driven and then parked few hours earlier. The sound was coming from the rear of the truck, underneath, primarily driver's side.
Concerned - I didn't look further, but instead put the key in the ignition, turned it to "on" and turned it back "off". Noise gone.
I can't tell if it had been making the noise for the past few hours since the truck was off, or if it had just started when I walked in.
I'm thinking fuel pump, but wanted to see what you guys thought and if it made any sense.
Any known issues with fuel pumps activating with the key out of the ignition? Anything else it could have been?
Thanks!
