Problem With Navigation Volume After Speaker Upgrade

I have an '12 TE with Entune and just added an amp and upgaded the speakers. In general, everything is working fine. My biggest problem is that the navigation volume is very loud even when turned down to the lowest level. Any idea how I can further adjust this. It hurts your ears!

Have you tried the steering wheel volume control while the nav is "talking?" I think that will clear it up ( there might be an easier way).

A word of caution, your BT call volume might be way too loud as well. When I added an amp an kappa dash speakers, the first call I received made my ears bleed. Fix that before the first call scares the begeezus out if you.

Thanks, Doc. I'll give that a try. I think I've only tried using the volume knob on the head unit and the touch screen.

So, I tried the steering wheel control trick and it didn't do anything for me. Does anyone else have any ideas? I thought I read about someone else having a similar problem, but I couldn't find any other info when searching.

There is a speaker icon on the nav screen that shows up after you select a route. Touch it and put it on the LOWEST setting possible. You can turn it completely off if you turn it down all the way.

Mine is still pretty loud on the lowest setting. It is geared for the stock speakers and amp.

Dial the amp back and set the nav volume to the lowest setting. See where the tolerable point is. Then see if the amp still powers the speakers to a satisfactory level.

I guess I'll give that a try. It's set pretty low already. Interestingly, the volume problem is only with navigation, not Bluetooth.

I think they might use a different number of speakers; I noticed the same thing.

It does seem an imperfect solution. Since I use waze on my phone (which operates through BT like a call) I haven't had to address the issue until you reminded me of it.

Been sitting on the sidelines not wanting to get involved but I'll give it a shot. Question. How is the amp hooked up and what factory stereo do you have? Is it the nav with the JBL premium sound? If you hooked up amp to speaker level outs you should not be having problems with nav volume. If you used some kind of factory integration harness, that is where your problem lies.

I have the Entune stereo with Nav, not JBL. I used the speaker outputs from the HU and fed them through a Kicker ZXSum8 as a LOC and then to the amp. I can also try adjusting the output level on the Sum8. I should have some time today to mess around with it.

Same problem here. I cannot believe they did not bother to test it before they went mass production with it. I have a 2013 RAV4 with factory navigation and the volume is too high even at the lowest possible volume.
