Problems/Issues with the 2014 4runner

Vehicle: 2014 4Runner TE w/KDSS

I'm new to a 4Runner so maybe this isn't actually an issue and how it's supposed to be but it seems when I turn left with any speed, maybe some small bumps, there seems to be quite the rattle somewhere in/under the vehicle. It seems to be a big rattle as far as parts under the vehicle.

I have not experienced this at any other times besides taking left turns with any speed.

Thoughts?

I'm getting the same noise..... 1500 miles on the truck, I've heard it since day 1. I have KDSS.

I have this issue as well...I think I will try a alignment check. I will require the +4 caster but what should say is the reason for the 4+? ...

Reason? You don't need no stinking reason. It's your effin truck. It'll work better.

Try this: "I want an alignment, and I want the caster set to +4 degrees". "And I want a printout of the results".

Within spec is 2.5 deg to 4 deg. +4 deg is easily attainable by a shop who knows what they are doing.

Have you checked your tire pressure?

One thing I have noticed on my 2014 Trail is a clicking sound coming from around the steering column area. This is when I hear it: I start the car, put it in Reverse & back out, put it in Drive, begin to drive away and that's when it happens. It's pretty much like clockwork so I figure it's probably ok and there are no other secondary indications. Also, if I put the the car back in Park, then back to Drive (to try to reproduce the sound) I do not hear the sound. Like I mentioned earlier it is only after starting the car, placing it in Drive, etc.
It is not a very loud noise, but it is definitely easy to hear. Not a "chattering relay" sound either, but instead a one time "click." I initially worried that there might be some pinching of a wiring harness in the steering column area since it was happening when I was turning the wheel, but I tried the whole sequence in a parking lot, without ever turning the wheel and it happened. Has anyone heard this noise too?

I have a SR5 premium and get that noise exactly the way you described it. I was not concerned because my wife's Acura did the same thing so I'm used to it.

a recurring "problem" i have after 6 months of driving my 2014 SR5 is that the acceleration is too fast, I get alarmed sometimes at its speed that I worry I will climb over the mini Cooper ahead of me if I don't brake fast enough.

Driveshaft leaking grease

Here is a real problem....
I have a 2014 TE with a Boss lift kit and I just hit 10000 miles and I been noticing grease dots on the body, at first I thought that it was the CV boots but when I when under the truck I couldn't find anything on the boots after further inspection I found that the driveshaft was flinging grease all over the undercarriage of the car.
I looked over the forum and I guess this is a common problem on 4runners but what causes this? Is it the lift? or just bad luck.
I will post this on the Boss Lift kit thread as well to see if I get any feedback from them.

Did you recently lube it or take it in for service? First thought would be that it's just expelling extra grease from a recent lubing or something. I'd wipe it off and see if it continues...

At 10k it's due for a lube job if you haven't anyway

I wouldn't call that little amount of grease a problem or issue. It is normal. The driveshafts spin at high speed. High speed and the range of movement causes some grease to get pushed past the seals and flung on the body or ground. This is another reason why you should grease the driveshafts at least every 10k or sooner if you drive in a lot of water or offroad.

Exactly, what's the big deal? I've got a bunch of grease on the bottom of my '03. So what?

Yes I had just taken the truck for the 10k service, so that probably was the grease from the service, I just never seen this before. Thanks for the help.

A comment like that deserves as much right here as your post as neither has anything to do with a 4Runner correct?

You really really need to buy a Prius and get rid of that gas guzzling big oil supporting global warming contributing SUV you are driving. Then you can be happy again and not weepy!

Easiest & cheapest upgrade is better, brighter bulbs. I would avoid any HID conversions unless you know & trust the seller, as there's way too much bad product coming out of Asia these days and you don't want your lights to quit when you need them the most.
