ProComp wheels + Spidertrax?

Im hoping i can get some help from you guys. heres my problem,

I have 17x9 procomp wheels with -6 offset, 285/70 bfg a/t and toytec 3/2 lift. I ordered a set of spidertrax wheel spacers because i want my rig to have a wider, more aggressive stance.

Prior to installing the spidertrax, i was rubbing on the pinch weld, so i bent it and it was good to go. i also did a slight chop of the body mount. now i go to install my spacers and at full turn, the outside of the the tire rubs the pinch weld and the metal wall next to the pinch weld. Iv read i can hammer the pinch weld till its flat? is that safe? can i cut the pinch weld? I also want to know if its safe to hammer in the metal wall inside the fender? any advice would be appreciated. thanks

To answer your question regarding hammering the the pinch weld flat...I hammered mine flat with a BFH and had a my body mount chopped as close as possible to the rubber mount to clear my 33's without any issues.

I'm running 3.5" front lift with a 1.5" body lift and my tires used to rub the wheel well and pinch weld under hard tire stuffing till i hammered the pinch weld down flat...

BTW:I wouldn't suggest trimming the the pinch weld...Just take your time with a BFH and get it flat as possible.

whats a bfh? Big ****in hammer? Im pretty sure i can get the pinch weld down but what about the fender wall thats next to the pinch weld?

LoL....BFH = big fat hammer.

You just need to hammer down the pinch weld till it's flat against the fender wall...it's not that stiff once you you get it bent down and flat.

You don't need to hammer the fender wall.The bottom pinch weld may be a little hard to bend or hammer down but only needs to be bent away so the tire doesn't cut into a straight edge.

BTW: To clarify what i meant about a BFH i meant a small sledge hammer..a regular a hammer doesn't have enough weight or force to bend the pinch weld.

thanks for all the input guys. but if anyone has a picture of the inside fender wall where the pinch weld is, that would be great. I guess im going to just hammer away till im satisfied.

Here's a pic of mine...It was easy for me since i no longer have the inner plastic liner in the wheel well.

Just a suggestion...I would spray the hammered areas afterwards with a rattlecan to prevent rust.

thanks for the reply mark. I should rephrase my question, anyone have a picture of their pinch weld already hammered? i just want to see how much i can go without damaging the vehicle. thanks again
