It will come out better anyways. They seem to be more about putting lipstick on a pig.

I cant remember which show it was, either fast n loud or the counting cars. They were building an early 60's impala, it had quite a bit of rust under it, and they just left it alone and painted the car, did some other upgrades etc etc. Some guy bought it for a pretty penny.

Thanks, I'm just having a dilemma choosing the right tire size. I think I have pinned it down to a 215/65/15(26/10/15)FRONT 265/70-75/15 (30/10/15)REAR. Having a tough time finding the sizes or a similar size, especially in a matching brand.

Have you tried Mickey Thompson website? They have some pretty close to give you that small front / big rear combo

I was considering that, but I was hoping to find a tire somewhat readily available at local tire shops.. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do.

How bout cooper cobra radials? those may be more readily available locally to you. BTW that's going to be a bad bad ride

I don't think you can go wrong either way. Been running Cooper tires off an on for years, never had any issues. The BFG's I've had were good too. I have had experience with both tires you mentioned, but that was around 24 years ago, and on a Trans Am. And I was a HS (then college) kid... no tires lasted very long in those days! I'm sure they've both been changed/improved since, but I recall liking both tires.

Thank you, I think we are gonna go with the Coopers. Read lots of reviews on both and they were about equal. The coopers are about $150 cheaper and we are already expecting to be over budget on the build so if we can save a few dollars we'll take it.

cut and buffed, now starting to add the hardware and clips and trim.

parts, door windows polished, front and back windows replaced.

slow progress lately. Had to send engine block back to machine shop, there was a touch of rust inside after the block had been sitting for 7 months. They got that redone, engine being built as we speak. Then will get that dropped in. Had the driveline balanced, u joints replaced, yoke polished etc.
