Project Stormtrooper (01 SC build)

Some updates from yesterday. Still more work but it is coming along. I ordered some LC rear shocks from Toyota. I pick those up on Tuesday.

CBI front bumper mounted.

Bilstien 5100 and Toytec springs front combo with Tundra brakes.

Special switch mounted and wiring ran.

Wheels and tires.

Got my LC shocks from Toyota. These things are beefy compared to 4runner shocks. Repurposed old hardware to make them bolt in perfectly.

Picture of size comparison.

Its a bad cell phone pic but finally got it out of the garage to do a lot of the little work. Going to wash it up tonight and get some better quality pictures.

Picked up a new set of spark plugs and 2 step colder spark plugs.

Got it all cleaned up and added a few other things.

Question... Why did you go with a set of colder plugs?
Please post how you like the ride with those LC Shocks. Are you running 861 or 891 with those?

amazing transformation!

Thanks.

The LC shocks seem to stiffen the back end up quite a bit. I am running 891's in the rear. Plan on picking up a set of LC springs soon. Can't wait to get it on the trail and flex some and see how well they do.

I am running colder plugs cause of the supercharger. Basically a supercharger creates more heat so you run colder plugs to offset the heat. Help to prevent detonating. Did some reading on the supercharger thread about it. I will be getting a bully upgrade soon.

Thanks.

Well Damn it, it you would create a signature so I would know you had a SC, I wouldn't have asked the stupid question!!! LOL JK.

You're doing a lot in a short amount of time. That's amazing. My projects (even the little ones) seem to take so much longer. Actually, come to think about it, the little ones DO TAKE LONGER! I put my front bumper on and wired up, by myself in a few hours. But to add a temp gauge to my tranny lines seem to take a week or two.

Again, great job on your 4Runner!

I had alot of parts on hand from a previous build. Some stuff I have picked up. As soon as I get rid of my Audi this thing is going to get alot more love.

Headed up to the mountains yesterday to do some off roading with some buddies. Checking to make sure everything was tight and good to go. Ended up having to remove my rear sway bar. My ABS, VSC, and VSC TRAC light are all on now. Been doing some research to figure out what is going on with that. Taking it to auto zone to pull the codes and see what it comes up with. Snapped a few pics on my cell phone. Got some better ones on a camera just been to busy to upload them on the computer.

Finally got this thing installed. Taking it to a local muffler shop who is going to weld the whole thing for $40 so I can get rid of those exhaust clamps.

what does it mean to "wet the whole thing"? just asking as I also recently installed the very same exhaust system, clamps and all.
