Propane conversion ?s

So I've seen conversions and does not seam to difficult. ?s include
What kind of MPG do you get on this stuff? I can get it for 1.99 a gallon which compaired to gas is awesome.

Thanks seams that its 90 percent of gas.mileage but at half the cost seams decent 800 for a.kit.

One main concern is that if you run out, youre out. Long trips need to be planned.

ive read some conversions threads on pirate 4x4 and they all seemed to get horrible mpg's for the daily driving part of it. im not sure if they did something wrong but it didnt seem worth it if you only got 10mpg

if you go propane youll have to rewire some things to make your dash work right but thats really easy plug and play kind of wiring

I'm undergeared with an automatic, and I get 22 on the freeway and 17 mixed.

you also live in a area with lower oxygen levels then us so your running leaner then us.....

With my lift, 35" tires and 4.88 gears I get almost 18mpg in the city. I don't do much freeway driving so I cannot give a good answer on my freeway mileage.

I wouldn't do propane unless it's a trail dedicated rig. Most people do a propane conversion because the gas tank is pressurized. With propane, being on extreme angles you don't have to worry about your gas pickup tube being in the gasoline.

If you're getting bad mileage then I would chalk it up to worn out or dirty sensors on your EFI system. When I rebuilt my motor I replaced EVERY sensor on my motor along with injectors from LCE Performance. I wanted to make sure that my motor will perform as it should when my runner was new. The last thing that I replaced was my injectors. Before I replaced my injectors I would get between 14-15mpg. After I replaced them my mileage jumped to almost 18mpg.

Any sensor that isn't giving the ECU the correct info could make your engine run rich and burn more fuel then necessary.

I would suggest that you spend a few hours and test each and every sensor on your engine, test your injectors and have them cleaned and flow tested, and clean your o2 sensor with some brake parts cleaner. Even a dirty o2 sensor can give the ECU a false lean reading and make you run rich and get bad mileage.

I put in a brand new o2 about 4 months ago and gained about 1-2 MPG but as soon as I come across a 7m I'm preparing it for a swap.
