Proper fix for scratches in roof

Been shopping for months and finally found a used 2014 TE at a dealership about 3.5hours from me. Haven't seen the car in person yet but the dealer has tons of pics and everything looks like new EXCEPT I just found out it has 2 significant scratches/dings on the roof. My guess would be a tree branch did the damage.

Glad the dealer came clean on this before I made the trip to take a look. Would have been pretty pissed off otherwise. Figured some salesmen might not have said anything & hoped I just didnt look at the roof.

We had settled on an out the door price before I found out about this so now it's time to either walk away or work something out.

What would you do in this scenario? Push them to fix it or push for a reduced price? It's a toyota dealership so I would hope they would fix it properly and not just a rushjob to get it sold.

I'd push for about $1,000 off and buy a roof rack.

Well I would say that they DEFINATELY need to now fix it for free. If you made a deal before they came clean about the scratches, you made a deal on a car that was expected to not have any obvious surprise damage.

Maybe they will also just take $$$ off as well, can get it fixed on the cheap or by yourself and yeah, hide it with a roof rack

Someone semi skilled with touchup paint could make those all but disappear cheaply without having to respray the entire roof.

Lift it - then you won't be able to see the roof.

I would like to line-x the roof of mine... You can't see it and when I throw crap up on the rack I wouldn't scratch it.

Flat vinyl wrap the roof and slap a rack on top!

Gonna push for $ off for now and try to have it touched up.

Roof rack & lift kit are on the to do list - just gotta let the wife catch her breath regarding our new monthly payment first.

I'd be too nervous to put line-x on the roof - at least until the vehicle has some more bumps and bruises.

I like the vinyl idea - i'll have to look into it.

doesn't look like a scratch from a tree, but if it not to the metal I wouldn't worry about it too much. But it's definitely a good reason to get some $$$ off the price. Or at least a free Toyota touch-paint pen.
