Purchase new tires or not?

Here's some quick photos of the Cooper AT3's I had mounted today.
Initial thoughts, are they look much better(beefier) than the OEM H/T tires. But, obviously not as aggressive as a full-on mud tire however. Based on looks alone, I like them.
Yes, It would look way cooler with a full-on suspension lift, and 285's, but that's not in my cards right now, with our 1st baby on the way.
I'll let you know more about performance after I can log some miles.

I'd say it's really too soon to tell....
But, my 4R felt a little "taller" like it added some height after I got in for the first time after install?
The tires felt 'stiffer' than the stock, which I like. Overall, I felt the SR5 was a little "bouncy" off the showroom floor. I'm guessing due to the soft suspension and plush H/T tires. Like 1Engineer said, it did reduce the nosedive somewhat, but not completely. Hopefully it helps with the cornering (body roll) too.
I didn't notice any add'l road noise, but it was also raining all day today.
The tires seemed to grip the wet road surface more than the h/t tires today too! Perhaps due to the wider tread width? I hope this doesn't hurt the mpg's too badly.
I didn't get an alignment after the install. So, we'll see how the balance job, and alignment is once i'm able to hit the highway. Is is recommended to get an alignment if you install new tires?
EDIT: I will be needing an alignment sooner, rather than later. I noticed on my drive into work this morning, my truck is now pulling slightly to the right. It was also windy out, so we'll see what it's like driving the other direction home tonight.

No kidding, took long enough! I like them MUCH better now. I was worried about the vibration, but Discount Tire took care of it today with a rebalance. No alignment, I only have 400 miles on the truck.
Hey, make sure you go to Coopers website, there's a $75. rebate when you purchase 4, AT3's. I'm out the door for $425. with my tire trade and rebate, can't beat that!
I'm more impressed with this truck by the day!

I Love my GY Duratrac's. Road noise is minimal considering the aggressive tread design. I chose the "E" rated tire as it has a stronger sidewall and is a true blackwall. I have not noticed a significant change in milage...approximately 1MPG less on average. Finally, they look great on my 4runner. 10,000 miles so far with very little tread wear. Rotate, rotate, rotate and they should last a long while. Oh, I almost forgot. I hated the Bridgestones. They slipped all over the place. The Duratrac's really grip the road, especially in rain and snow!

Yesr, i mailed mine in earlier this week! And I got a $50 gift card to the store I bought them at. :bigok:
AND....I sold my OEM tires on CL last night for $400! So...the tire upgrade was about $275 out of pocket. Not too bad in my opinion!
Regarding my alignment issue... the alignment was covered yesterday under Toyota warranty. The tech took it out on the road, and claimed it was fine, and it was simply pulling right from 'road crown'. My friend told him to put it on the alignment rack, even though the tech said it was a waste of his time. After the numbers came back, turns out the alignment WAS out of spec on the right side, as well as toe in. "I told ya so!"

Curious -which place is offering the $50 gift card too?
I emailed cooper tire to confirm Discount's version (ATR) qualifies for the $75 card and no response. It wasn't specifically listed in the fine print, but it did say no substitutions so I figured it would be a good idea to confirm.

Fleet Farm had the tires on sale last week. If you bought (4) tires, you get the $50 gift card, and $75 rebate from Cooper.
They also had a ton of ATR's on-hand(on close out), but they said they were not included on the sale, as they are now being discontinued. That's probably why they are not on the Cooper rebate list. I'm assuming the AT3 was replacing them?

Very cool! I only got $60 a piece for mine. I was going to do the CL thing, but there were already 8 tires out there, for not much more than Discount gave me. I just didn't deal with it...
I'll have them double check the alignment when I have to go in to the dealer, good suggestion.

They told me they didn't check sizing, so we shall see. If I don't get the $75, I'm not too worried. I still like the tires.
The ATP does not qualify.
