Purchased a 2012 4Runner Ltd Black/Black (w/dealer experience)
I just purchased a 2012 4Runner Limited, Black/Black, Navigation, 3rd row seat, cargo cross bars, floor and cargo mats, etc. It had only 3 miles on the odometer so it was new!
PRICE
MSRP $44,370, negotiated price $39,774 or 10.4% off which is $4,596. I figure I could have done better at the end of the month ($5K off), but it seemed like a decent enough deal and my wife liked the SUV and it will be her daily driver. I figure there will be less inventory with these colors and options in as the weeks and months pass.
DEALER OPTIONS
The dealer offered to add the factory running boards for $771.50+tax, or $549 parts + $222.50 labor. Does anyone know of this factory part comes with the brackets and mounting hardware?
The same dealer offered to install the Mud flaps for $167+tax ($78 parts + $89 labor). I'm not postive the Running Boards (option=R6) is compatible with the mud flaps (code = MF). At least the dealer didn't say it wouldn't work. Maybe someone here knows since I want the Running Boards but the mud flaps are not necessary.
A simple google search turned up this parts warehouse online with the same two items for $408 and $56 respectively!!??

Where do the people in this forum buy their OEM parts and accessories online? Any tips or hints for price, and good service?
The finance manager went on and on about a remote starter for $700, RoadBlock paint protector (3M product) for $795, a dealer-backed 5 yr/100K warranty ("Better than Toyota Platinum") for $1395, etc. It was kind of funny actually.
I've previously purchased the Toyota Platinum ext. warranty from the online discounters at the same or better prices than the ones I read about in this forum already.
REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT
Since no 4Runner seems to come with an installed rear seat entertainment system (special order vehicle only?) we decided we would have one installed since our current vehicle has this for the kids. It seems with overhead flip-down units (Rosen, Alpine, Advent) all of them would really obstruct the driver's rear view mirror whether it is a 8" or 10" display. So it seems likely we would lean towards a Rosen dual headrest 7" DVD system (AV7900) which is a lot more money.
Does anyone have a Rosen AV7900 in a 5th Gen 4Runner? Comments ... likes / dislikes? The dealer offered to install this prior to delivery this weekend for $2299+tax, but I called around and found the street price is about $1500+tax from Rosen installers. I guess I need to shop around a bit more before spending too much!

QUESTIONS FOR THE FORUM
- I forgot to look for the USB port with the Limited w/Navigation+Entune radio. Where is it located? Is it in the glove box or one of the front compartments?
- What's the story with that brake pedal noise?? I test drove two brand new 4Runners (3 miles, 20-30 miles) and sat in a third SR5 without driving it. All three seemed to have a "squishy sound" when pressing the brake pedal that is audible if the radio and A/C is off.
- I have not seen the owner's manual yet, but are people in the forum satisified using 87 or 89 octane gas in their 5th gen 4Runner? Our Sienna never complained or knocked with 87 octane and we had a city/highway average of about 18mpg (AWD). What are people getting for mpg?
