After looking on here and reading a million post it looks like you can fit a 285/70 tire with a 3in lift. What I'm curious about is running the stock wheel with that tire will I have any wheel rub and how will it look w/o wheel spacers? Are wheel spacers a must? Any help would be appreciated I did ALOT of searches and all the write ups I have seen have been very helpful just want to make sure that I understand what I'm getting myself into before I go buy tires.

You shoulod be able to fit 285's with a 3/2 kit, however, you will likely need to do some trimming in the wheel well area to help alleviate any rubbing issues. It is not a big deal, usually just some plastic trimming.
Regarding the wheels: It is my understanding that you HAVE to run spacers or else the inner tire sidewall will contact the upper control arm. You have to create more space there(either by spacers, different wheels OR A/M upper control arms).
You can run a 265 size tire without any of the above.

You will need to do alittle trimming, no big deal.
As for wheel spacers, if you have a 17 inch wheel you do
not have to have them to run a 285/70r/17. I have a 3/2
cornfed w/ 285 BFG KO'S. I too was very worried about the rubbing issue, but its no big deal at all. It only rubs at full
lock when turning left or right , I never have any rubbing issues
b/c like i said your wheel has to be at full lock. Ilove the look of wheel spacers, but all the mechanics and off road shops i've talked to said not to run them on an everyday driver unless its absolutely necessary, they can cause alot of probs. It would

I appreciate the pics. I am going down Mon. morning to put on the lift. I will be looking @ tires while I am there just wanted to know exactly what I was gonna run into with a 285 since mine is a every day commuter. I also plan on doing a little offroading, hill climbing and such so all the info really helps.
