Purely Opinion: What Would you do?

Lets assume you have a TRDP, lets also assume you can't leave shit alone. Lets also assume you're not interested in cutting.

What suspension set up would you run? Before anyone flames this, Ive looked and theres pros and cons to them all.

What set up would you guys run, assuming you see more mud than rock, snow more than water. So I gotta go up.

There's pros and cons to this for a reason. Everyone has their dislikes and likes. Subjective topic once again. Look at set ups on the lift thread and build threads. Once you find a look you like, PM the person and ask how they like their setup. And yes, this will get flamed for obvious reasons.

This is purely why I asked for the opinion, but thanks for your self serving narcism. Everyones review is also subjective. They all price within a few hundred, and for the record thats thousands. So while I have narrowed it down to three I like, I was curious if anyone, or how many mentioned them, so I could put some value on my "objective" research.

Being that theres no way to compares apples to apples, theres no way to do the research. I will say in case you doubt it, Im torn between the King KSR410, The OME Kit or the Icon Stage 5 tubular (which comes in much higher, but is thoroughly reviewed).

So lets get a tally.

Im not sure you've ever gotten to the point of researching something till you're more willing to smash your face on the wall than keep reading. Id attach the spreadsheet if you'd like to see my obsessive tendencies. People like me are usually the product of over research, than under I think. I will compare and arbitrate the smallest of details. Usually requiring an atomic event to provoke me to buy. This is where Im at.

Make no mistake Im not new to this, especially suspension in general. Ive built and tuned many vehicles, on and off-road. Also I lack a local dealer, so I have far too many options! This is more like the example of trying to choose a new PC vs a new Mac. Theres a reason why theres so many macs in the world, there are less choices, less scrutiny, and less apprehension.

Hands down the best suspension setup for a TRDP with no cutting for someone that can’t leave it alone is to keep the stock suspension and upgrade the interior lights to purple leds. Just my opinion.

Without any input on what you're asking out of the suspension, any value you get is only going to bias whatever objective review you've done, assuming you know how to interpret the data. Considering that you're comparing a suspension package without upper control arms, one (from what I am assuming is a misspelled part number) with upper control arms, and one with upper control arms and rear lower links, without any other mention of desired performance characteristics, load carrying capacity, or ride height, I'd say you've got some work to do before you try polling people on this. There are some significant performance differences between the coilovers you've noted as well. I'm also not sure "likeness" is an appropriate measure of suitability.. from the objective point of view you're attempting to take. Anyways, best of luck.

My opinion is don't start a vague new thread on a topic that already has 50 threads of 50 pages of opinions each.

Icon Stage 7 is the only way to go for you. Be sure to get them custom valved. Throw some titanium skid plates under it while you're at it.

spherical bearings can get noisy quickly. It's not a huge task to switch them out on the weekend, but hey- I don't have any kids.

Otherwise, if you don't plan on replacing uniballs and spherical bearings on a regular basis, that might lead you toward non-rebuildable shocks. Personally I'd like to try dobinsons some day.

Let’s assume you have the money since you bought a 40000+ vehicle, go stage 6 Icon tubular and be done with it.... the only thing I would add would be an adjustable UCA that’s not billet aluminum lol :whoo:

Given this, a few more pages of subjective opinions and snarky responses aren't likely to help. UNLESS, the fact that the snarkiness is directed at you causes the "atomic event" to drive action.
