Put 275/55/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my Limited today

I would like to hear from someone that has run these tires for at least 20K. While there has been lots of smoke from non users, those that have been running the tires for at least a full season.

Well... it was time for tires before the next inspection (41K+ on orig tires), and I decided to go with the Michelin Defender LTX M/S 2's in 275/55R20 over the Nitto TG's due to very limited off-road use. Note there are different sidewall stiffness options, and I went with the lesser stiffness (no jokes please). I paid about $835 OTD, but have a $70 mail in rebate.
They fit w/o rubbing, but feel noticeably "wobbly" when stressing the sidewall. Of course, we're talking about a 4R, but IMO the stock tires felt more planted than what I have now. Note I had the installer put max pressure (35 PSI). On the up side, they definitely fill out the wheel profile better, and will certainly offer better traction. Also, I didn't see a noticeable change in observed speedometer readings.

Note that the max pressure is 44 PSI. I raised the fronts to 40 and the rears to 42. I hope this will help the feel.

The limited rims are actually 7.5 wide. There is some confusion on this butnif you search you will find it.

Sorry but that conclusion is incorrect. We disputed that myth years ago; back-&-forth we went until we finally got to the truth by actually measuring the rim size from inner lip to inner lip... turns out that the rim is 7 inches wide. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/1220771-post45.html My hope was that I would find the stock limited rim to be 7.5 inches wide so I could 'safely' throw on a set of 275/55 R20. The bottom line is that I have been running the 275/55 R20's in spite of the narrow rim and have had no problems with them at all... best tire I've ever purchased and handles like a Top European sports car!

Read the entire thread you linked to... They are 7" I measured when I took mine off and rigtec posted a picture.

Those pics prove it's a 7" rim. You can clearly see the measurement from inner lip to inner lip. :doh:

I don't suppose you're also one of those flat earthers as well? lol

I had the terra grapplers for about 30k miles on a Ford Explorer. No issues with the tires, they still had plenty of tread left when I sold the Explorer.

You are measuring wrong; the measurement is from inside the lip, basically where the tire seals at.

No one corrected me after I posted those photos. I was the one who removed the tire so ALL doubt could be removed! The rim is 7 inches wide! The photo of the firestone fitment catalog was one of the sources from where the misunderstanding was created! If you want to be responsible for resurging that confusion on this forum then go ahead; but just remember: I showed you the actual width using a standard rule with a tape measure so no one would have to guess!

Long term thoughts?

I have a 2014 Limited and my Yoko's have 30k on them and are starting to slip on wet roads.

I've been going back and forth between the Michelin Premier LTX (proper size for the 20') and the Nitro G2s (improper size for the 20').

Now that it's been a couple of years, what are the long term thoughts for the Nitro G2s on highway safety (which is mostly of what I drive) and the tread wear?

4261135440 is the OEM part#, and they are 20x7. The other link provided showing a 20x7.5 is incorrect.
