Putting 8 inch Mids speakers in front doors fitting issues

Hi Guys,

I know a couple of you guys put 8 inch speakers in the front doors, Did you have to do any inner door trimming to make the speaker fit in the hole? Also does anyone know of a product that goes over the speaker to protect and keep the speaker from getting damaged by the door panel. Kinda like a large ring. If so what is it callled

The stock speakers in the front door are 6x9's, so an 8" speaker would definitely require some work to fit.

Update. I was able to fit 8inch sundown neo8s in the front doors. Nothing major just had to use a plywood bracket. Half inch thick and man are they awesome.

I assume you trimmed off the plastic ring around the grill covers on the door panel.
After you break them in, and use them pretty good a few times, pull the panel back off and make sure they are not hitting anywhere.

I was checking my sub the other day and found little bits of rubber at the bottom of the grill. Seems it was extruding so far, it was hitting the cover and rubbing off part of the cone. Had to bend the guards out a little. Also had to add some washers to set it out further as well.
