I know I am bringing up an old thread but with the new iphones it got me thinking.
I am going to do this but dont want the dash torn up while I complete everything. Does anyone know the part number for the cubby/pocket plastic piece?

I hope you are wrong. I just ordered an unlocked Note 8 from Samsung tonight. I was looking at multi-coil fast chargers to replace the current one.
Note 4 = 144.8mm
Note 8 = 162.5mm
A quick check in the dark looks like the lower cubby is close to 165mm.
The QI is very convenient although I do have a couple 20k mah fast charging power packs now.

The little white plastic for the LED light fit just great after a little dremel work.
Note4 charging.
Did you just cut out a little opening for the white plastic charging indicator and then hot glue it in?

Pretty bummed my 6plus wouldn't fit in this useless compartment... the iPhone x fits perfect! Just did this mod today minus the optical because the led placement on my charger sucked . Great write up

To remove this pocket is it the two screws and then 4 clips? I removed the screws and pulled a little but ti did not want to come out.

This is what I was thinking. You open it up and remove the plastic chrome trim ring. Use the inside as a template on the bottom of the tray. Very carefully cut it out. I mean VERY carefully.
Here, I made a sample out of cardboard in a few minutes so it gives you a rough idea. Snap it together with the tray replacing the ring and I imagine it would look factory with the qi logo and a grippy surface. Bonus points for the LED being right there on the surface.
Did you need that 12V to 5V adapter?

Thank you for the helpful response. I did read it. I’m wondering the entire center console needs to be removed to gain acess to the screws for the pocket.
