My 2008 has auto headlights - so that really won't be a new feature, will it? Or was it not a standard feature until the Gen 5s?

And no, they're not totally 100% computer-driven "auto", you have to turn the headlamp switch to AUTO, but then you can leave it there forever if you wish...same net effect IMO.

It's growing on me after seeing this picture. I confess that I don't generally like the mix of hard and soft lines, hard angles and circles look, but I can't not consider this vehicle based on my experience with current 4Runner (1999) and out Sienna van.

Well, I guess these latest pictures answer the question about the roof rack. Definitely not a carry-over from the 4th gen.

Is that the cell phone button I see on the dash? Are they kidding? Why would that not be on the steering wheel?

That's the accessory added "BLU Logic" bluetooth. The factory version (I assume in the JBL upgrade and navi-equipped units) will have steering wheel-mounted controls.

I bought the BLU Logic system as an accessory from a Toyota dealer. It's not compatible with JBL or Nav units. Maybe the model for the 2010 models has been modified to where it has steering wheel controls and works with either one of those units.

My buttons looks the same as that picture.

May be a plus in the "looks" department, but the "hump" is actually quite functional. Here's hoping their rear wipers are up to the task...that laid-level spoiler isn't going to push an ounce of air down the back glass at speed which means we're back to mongo amounts of road spray again back there when it rains.

I like my 'hump'. Had my '08 T4R since Christmas 2008 and have yet to need my rear wiper a single time in the rain. The hydrophobic glass and 'hump' spoiler negate the need for one 99% of the time on the current models IMO.

I always get a kick out of reading stories about the "hump" spoiler and how much better it keeps the rear glass clean. Do you really believe that the small lip added to the humped spoiler will cause it to move that much air to make a significant difference? I sure don't at all.

I have an '04 (the very last year of the humpless OEM spoiler) and NEVER, I repeat NEVER use my rear wiper. I'm not even sure if it works because I've never even tried it. And guess what? My back window doesn't get any more dirty than it would with a hump spoiler, humpless spoiler, or no spoiler at all. In my opinion, you guys are fooling yourselves if you really think the hump spoiler is measurably more effective than the non-hump spoiler or no spoiler at all.

I'd actually like to do a simple experiment. Someone with a hump spoiler should take some painters tape and close up the gap on half of the spoiler and then drive around in winter when there's a bunch of salt spray from wet roads. Then take a picture of the back glass. I could do the same thing with my non-hump spoiler and we can compare pictures. For some reason, I doubt there will be much difference between the left and right sides of the rear glass and also between the two different 4Runners. Maybe I'll make a point of doing this sometime during this winter.

4th 4Runner?

I've had three in a row.The present one is a 2004 Limited V8. My favorite in looks was the 1992 two door V6 (they were sold in Canada). The first was a 1985. If these pictures are accurate then I think I will go for my fourth. I will wait a year because in the past they have cleaned up the styling after a year or so. Compare the front ends of the 91 and 92 for example or the color matched cladding on the 2004.

I agree.... looks better here, but the thing looks like its the size of the old sequoia, with the new sequioa body. Nothing really screams '4runner' to me. More or of an XB with a cargo bay, or a sequioa. My 2 cents.

I am right there with you on this one. Looks good but we have seen it before.
I do like the slide out on the rear cargo. That would help me alot.

I can't speak on whether the hump spoiler keeps the rear glass cleaner than the humpless, but I can attest to the fact that the spoiler (in my case "humped") keeps the rear glass much cleaner than not having a spoiler. I had a 2006 4Runner with no spoiler and the rear glass was always dirty. I traded it in on a 2008 with a spoiler and the rear glass stays very clean.
