Question about AWD / Traction Control

We just got an '05 SR5 4WD v8 with 32k miles. Sometimes when we are coming to a stop or accelerating from a stop you can feel a small shift in the axle like something is engaging in the wheels. Is this normal? We think it is but would feel better with confirmation.

Thx

Congrats on the T4R! Yes, the thump is 'normal'. Regular greasing of the driveshaft will help some. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=975

Yes, the clunk happens on all Runners. Check the search feature and type in Driveline Clunk. Everyone with a T4R is aware of it.

i've always wondered why the thump thread hasn't been stickied?

It is in problems & warranty... The title isn't so obvious. Maybe I'll tune that a bit:D
