question about LED bulbs (XenonDepot)

simple question : since the XenonDepot low beam LED headlight bulb has 1 set of diode on each side of the black plastic mast set 180 degree apart could it be possible to manufacture them so that they both face on one side (side that faces the projector lens of course ) so that the output would be almost twice as efficient given the side projector mounting .
I modified a pic of my own bulb as to demonstrate the modification (hope XenonDepot doesn't mind)

Here's the deal. A halogen bulb emits light 360° whereas an led emits at an 180° pattern. An LED bulb would have to have one on each side to emit a full 360° To even compare to a standard halogen bulb.

Even then, you are not getting a full 360 degrees of light emitting from the LED stalk. The other 2 surfaces are void of LED's.

in the case of the 2014/16 4runner the projector is a little weird since the bulb enters the projector at an angle close to 90 degree , I was told that a big percentage of the light emitted by the back LED was not reflected to its full potential.
maybe the black plastic piece that holds the LEDS could be thinner that would help I'm sure.
don't get me wrong I am satisfied with the current output from my low beams...HID is better but I love the instant on and durability of LED!

I highly doubt it. People on this forum maintain that the OEM projector (14+) is "good enough" from behind the steering wheel. They are nearly all content throwing in any non-OEM-spec bulbs (either HID or LED) rather than doing a significantly more expensive retrofit to an actual HID projector made for that specific purpose. The fairly common HID projector retrofits are frowned upon by most since they are "too expensive", despite being high quality, fairly straight forward to do, and very easy to source components and help.

Not to mention that there are literally no LED projectors that perform as well as some of the HID projectors readily available.... The fairly common Corolla unit is a joke. The only decent performing LED projector is the Koito Bi-LED unit. It's expensive (~$400 per pair I think) and still doesn't perform like the FX-R projectors (and probably not even as well as the Morimoto Mini units either). To be fair, I believe the LED projectors have everything necessary (no additional equipment - bulbs/ballasts - required), the pricing isn't as bad as it would seem initially.

Yes, there is the "unique" factor, but that is about it. The LED technology for projectors just isn't there yet. All that being said, I'd absolutely love to see someone do the Koito Bi-LED in these headlights.
