Question about my 4WD system

Ok, so you're saying exercising on the road is a bad idea? Or was your case just a fluke?

NO, 12 yrs / 160K miles with lots of off road in tough conditions was good reliability aa I see it and I feel the exercising I did helped get that longevity.

Once I'm in 4HI on the road is there a speed I should stay below? I can't imagine since the front axle and driveshaft are still turning in 2HI right? Just not connected to transfer case

Never really thought about the speed on dry pavement in 4HI, but my typical routes I use are all 45 mph or less and I never exceed about 40 mph, and most is 30 mph or under.

For sure you don't want to shift in/out at speeds greater than the manual says for your particular vehicle, and it varies on the type of system.
