Question about the grounds next to the diagnostic port underneath the hood

There is no reason that relocating these grounds with mess with anything electrical... Is there?

I stupidly managed to break the head off that bolt tonight.

My efforts to extract it haven't gone well at all and I'm giving up before I screw it up... More than I already have. :dammit:

Decided to quit being a baby and just try it. Temporarily mocked something up and started the 4Runner a couple of times. Started up and ran smooth with no codes. Turned it on and off a couple of times with no issues. No check engine and the ScanGauge didn't pull anything.

Tomorrow I'll make something more permanent and live with my stupid mistake staring back at me whenever I'm under the hood. I was worried that with the proximity to the diagnostic port that it might be susceptible to tampering.


Anyways just a reminder to take your time under the hood. :doh:

I ran without that bolt or wire connected for 6 months and didnt notice a difference. And whenever i finally put it in i didnt notice any difference. i wouldn't worry about it. Ive been told that its for the dealership to diagnose your car.
