question about the knock sensor

on my 90 i had to replacr the engine due to lack of maintenence on the original owner. I put in a 94 3.0. it had different wiring , but all i did was change the wiring and sensors from the 90 withe the exception of the knock sensor. needless to say the check engine light is on. now i have to replace the sensor. the last time i tried to do that I ended up having to remove the timing assy. Does anyone know if removing the intake plenum ivolves the timing cover/water jacket?
thanks in advance

No. Just remove the Plenum and intake manifold an its right there in the middle.

ok so you are saying i dont have to mess with the water inlet or timing cover? that is what i did last time, so in doing that has made me kind of skiddish. just trying to get clarity... Yes, i did buy a book, too! but it is unclear.
thanks for the info
