Question for guys who have done an abs delete (earlier system)

This might be obvious to some but I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer. For those of you who have deleted the abs pump and kept the stock master cylinder, did you run the front port of the master cylinder to the front brakes and the rear port to the rear? Would it even matter?

Bump. Anyone know what port on the abs master cylinder goes to the front and what port goes to the rear brakes?

There are some pre-load (not sure of the correct term) and volume differences between the two ports, so very important to get them right.

yea seems like brillo is right, i'm not sure where he learned that info but i have a good guess lol

anyway I tried the back port to back brakes and front port to front brakes like you would with a non abs master cylinder because that's all I had to go by and the braking was pretty crap, it worked but I pretty much had to stand on the brakes to stop quickly, however in normal driving and braking it wouldn't be very noticeable so it could be dangerous if someone were to do that and not try a few panic stops as a test. reversing the ports now allows the vehicle to stop extremely well, I did this as part of the disk brake conversion so that helps a lot in the braking too.

ABS has saved my ass enough times on my 4Runner and Saturn I can’t imagine getting rid of it.

Mine has been disabled for a long time now, I just got rid of the pump and simplified the brake line routing. I've put lots of miles on cars without abs from the factory so I'm confident in my ability to drive conservatively and compensate for the lack of abs. When the 4runner still had it the only time it ever kicked in was when it wasn't supposed to, however it didn't cause nearly as many problems as some people on here report
