Question for those with SPC UCA's...

Long story short, I threw on Dobinsons springs and 5100's all around (2.5/2). Found out during alignment that my LCA cams were frozen. So I just today ordered the SPC UCA's (newest version) and I'm wondering which position I should set the caster when I install them?
My post lift numbers were both very close to 0 on both sides. I was thinking just go max and set them in the "A" position, but I'd like to hear opinions before I proceed.

Thanks guys

SPC recommends the "D" or +2* setting for 2-3" lifts per their directions. I just installed mine two weeks ago using the D or +2 setting along with 5100's and OME coils... got 2.5" lift. My alignment came out great and still have a lot of adjustment left on the LCA's! Caster 4.2 Camber 0. Drives great no wandering at speed.

Sorry just read again and saw that your lca cams were frozen. You might want to start at A or B if your caster is 0 post lift. One other thing to consider is if you are going with 285's and also aftermarket wheels, you will probably need to be able to adjust your lca cam bolts to move the tire/wheel forward. The Spc uca's caster adjustment looks like it actually moves the tire/wheel towards the rear gaining caster. Might need the lca cams working to get the wheel forward enough to not rub on the back side/can mount.

But if my LCA's are frozen at the 0 degree mark, would I not want to max out the SPC's at 4 degrees?

How could it move the wheel backwarda and achieve positive caster? That would be moving negative. Right?

I did my own install of the spc uca's and 5100's and coils. The way it looked to me is that SPC adds caster by actually moving the upper ball joint back towards the rear of the wheel well.... thus the different A-B-C ect. settings. This gives you more caster but also "looks" to slightly move the wheel/tire back ( maybe someone with more knowledge could explain this better). The gained caster comes from the upper ball joint moving rearward and thus giving more caster angle. The LCA cams can move the wheel forward thus giving the same ( more caster angle). Also note that the SPC Uca's allow for more camber adjustment. So you could max out your LCA cams ( moving the wheel forward)and still have some room to adjust camber with your spc uca's.

That makes sense actually, I guess I'll shoot for 3 degrees as to not move the wheel too far back in the well.

Anyone else with expertise here, please chime in!

I don't have too much expertise with 4runners....but i'll throw my shitty 2 cents in anyways. lol

IMO i'd replace those LCA cam's regardless of what you end up setting the uppers at. I think the adjustable uppers are great as an addition to alignments, but not meant to be the only way to align the vehicle. After reading the comments on this board and my experience with frozen titan cam bolts, i really should go outside right now and throw some anti-sieze on the 4runner bolts....and add more to the titan ones lol.

Just buy some OEM width total chaos lowers. Its just money:blah::blah:

+2 and buy new cam bolts from Toytec or Wheelers

I have SPC uppers. They were on the vehicle when I bought it. My alignment guy got me 3.5 degrees and it drives fantastically. They seem very nice to me.
