Question of size

Hello, so I currently drive a diesel VW. Yeah....one of them. Anyway, supposedly VW will be buying back my car in a couple months. Naturally I'm thinking of a 4Runner. A new one in the limited trim.

We had one we bought new in 2011. My wife actually picked it out and drove it. She loved it really, we both did.

Anyway! So I'm looking at the new 2016 and 2017 Limited models. Are the my the same size as the 2011? I looked on Edmunds and they show the specs as being exactly the same. But sitting in the new one at the dealer, it just felt smaller somehow. Not as tall and not as wide as out previous 2011 Limited.

I'll tell you one thing though, climbing into the drivers seat of the brand new Runner at the dealer felt awesome. The seats are so comfortable. I can totally see the enthusiasm you guys have for these trucks.

Thanks,

Yes, same size just different front end and some interior modifications (new cluster).

I keep telling my GF she should have bought a diesel (as she is trying to trade her ratty petrol version).

I was in the same boat. I had a jetta TDI wagon and loved the car. Now I've got my 4Runner and the Jetta is parked till November 1st. I may or may not also have a Golf R on order... uhhhh. But I do love my 4runner. It's solid and enjoyable to drive.

I loved my 2001 Mk4 GTI VR6. She was fast with a great engine. Went from that to a Saab 9-3 and Saab 9-5 Aero. LOVED those cars too! Went back to VW for the MK2 Touareg 4.2 and loved that vehicle also but the love ended where maintenance began.

Always wanted a TDi VW but for some reason or another never snagged one. I almost snagged a V10 TDi but maintenance scared me away.

Yeah, my VW is a 2013 Golf TDI. I considered a new Golf R, but have pretty much settled on the 4Runner just because of how durable they are. But it's a pretty sweet deal. I paid 31k for the Golf and according to the schedule they are giving me something like 23k to buy it back! YES! A great down payment on a new 4 Runner.

Here's our previous 2011 Limited. We were camping up in Vermont with it. I'll try and dig up some more pictures. We used to live back in Jersey.

Wow that is awesome! I'm only getting 11k for mine but its a 2009 with 235k on the odo. I will say this that you will miss the MPG on road trips just a little bit. But the 4runner more than makes up for it.

We have a 2011 4Runner and a 2011 Golf TDi. With the buyback, the golf has been a great investment. Ours will go back with about 120k on the clock.
