Questions about selling my used 4th Gen. 07 4R

Hello,

I need to sell my 07 4th Gen. 4R. (To make room for a 3rd child seat...) It is in decent condition with 131K. Is the KBB value a good place to get your asking price? I have actually never sold a vehicle in a private sale. What avenues are the best? Craigs List? Ebay? Other?

Thanks for any input- I am pretty green when it comes to this.

If it's relatively undamaged and in overall good shape, KBB PP value is a fair estimate of a vehicle in what they describe to be in "good" condition.

Anything beneath that is just guesswork since people aren't willing to take too many chances with a 10 year old vehicle.

Vehicle pricing varies by states/region of the country.

I've run a couple of vehicle through CarMax for info.
Then I see what they are selling in the area.
I also check KBB.
Price it as you see fit and ask more then you want to give the other person a good deal when they try to give you a lower price.

Hope this helps.

If you list on CL, just be ready for the CONSTANT stream of scam attempts. It's absolutely pathetic how infested that web service has become. I just sold my '07 CRV using CL. I literally went through 25 scam replies before I got a single legitimate response that I would sen my contact info to.

I used a suggestion that helped weed out most of the scam attempts, although after opening a few that looked legit it was quickly apparent that they were just scams.

In your ad, at the end- add a comment telling people to put a certain word in the title box or else the email will get pushed into the spam folder. In my case, I told people to type in the word CRV. 85% of the replies never had that typed in, so I just didn't waste my time opening the e-mail.

When you're typing the CL ad, they don't give the option to bold or italicize anything so you have to manually type the bold tabs. < b > < / b > ( with no spaces between the characters.)

Hope this helps and good luck !

If you really want to see what your truck is worth, check the NADA site. This is the bible of the automotive industry, what dealers and banks/loan companies go by. You get the trade -in value and the retail value. (What you'd get for it in a trade -in and what they'd resell it for,)
A realistic asking price would be somewhere in the middle. KBB and others are a bit inflated.

Location in the US makes a big difference too.
