Quick Assist - Decent Price Paid on TRD Pros

Bounced on my 2012 Trail about a year back due to a hyper commute to a new job. Turns out that it's far less worse than I thought. Stumbled across a TRD Pro w/ 3,300 miles today. Might jump back into a 5th Gen.

What's a decent price? Their adverstised price of $43k feels about 2g high.

That would be sticker price for an untouched one, but somebody will probably pay it. Just so you know.

Some say they have paid slightly above, some slightly below. Don't expect a great deal.

What is decent? That is up to you.

Most were probably sold to at or very close to MSRP new -- which is between 42k-43k on average.

So you found a used one w/3,300 miles. A decent price? You're going to get lots of opinions one what a decent price would be considering where someone might live and how much money he or she makes. I would think if a dealer is selling, and depending on location, a Pro with low miles like that you might go for slightly below 40K. If it's an Inferno it'll probably be higher.

To a lesser degree, this was happening with Trails down in the SE. Dealers thought they were sitting on a goldmine every time they got a user beat up trail in. They would call me every other day for a month trying to unload the thing but wouldn't bring their prices down. Finally got a steal on a 2014 Trail Premium when a Ford dealer thought it was an SR5 premium. :banana:

dude. read the BAJILLION (not an overstatement at all) threads on how the TRD pro really isn't worth it... sorry to burst that bubble but i think you would rather know that now before you dip yourself in a big vat of debt for a not-that-great improvement over the other 4WD models and trim of this 4runner. plus you can add most all of the visible difference from a TRD pro to a 14-15 SR5(P) and TE(P). So all you are getting is an overpriced suspension (akin to the Bilstein 6112/5160) and the chance at inferno red coloring.

Charles Maund Toyota in Austin has a couple 2015 Trail Editions (one TE and one TEP, niether with KDSS but you must not care about that since you want a TRD Pro anyway) and MANY 2015 4WD SR5s sitting on the lot and I bet the sales people over there want to make a deal before 2016 stock heads their way...

thats the direction i would go if i was you, and if i could have found a trail on a lot in TX in October last year when i was looking i would have bought a new one, but there were none... Happy hunting!

You should also post this as your opinion.

I've owned a 2012 Trail and now the 15 Pro. Worth it for me, to each their own.

Have you seen all the racks and 40 inch led ridgid light bars everybody have, everybody overspends.(no pun intended, I want one of them lights, as soon as I save money).... Now take into account what percentage APR the loans people are taking out, how much down payment they put in and the number of years for the life of the loan, warranty anyone? What about overspending on labor for installing aftermarket parts? there is a longgggggggggg list of overspending to go around... To each there own
