Quick Connect Awning attachments

Does anyone know of any universal quick connect attachments for an ARB awning . Looking for a way to quickly attach the awning when needed and then remove it when not. I was thinking of fabing up something using Air Fittings, but wanted to see if there was anything available on the market...

I'll be curious to see the result if you come up with a custom solution as I have a similar setup using Yakima crossbars and a Rhino Rack awning. Currently I put mine on when going camping or offroading and remove it when done. It requires a 10mm socket and about 10 minutes for install or removal. I'd love to make it even quicker.

An allen key, yes. Not sure if you're going to find a secure, completely tool free option

Perhaps an axia mount and an appropriate sized bicycle quick release?

I don't know how the metal bar is on the awning but what about Quick Latch? I've used them on my race car for the bumper and they work really well. It's as simple as pushing a button

Would only need two so that's $50? Not saying it's the route he needs to take but it's an option. I do like your idea but you would have to fabricate some brackets but it wouldn't be difficult.

I can picture how it would mount, but I would be a little leery of relying on two small rubber clamps to hold the awning, especially when it becomes a sail in the wind at freeway speeds.
Another issue for me would be the fact that rubber clamps would make it easily apparent to any passersby that the awning can be easily removed without any tools. At least if you went the route of fabrication, or using some configuration of metal hardware, I would think the average person might not recognize how easy it is to remove. But with the rubber clamps it seems like it would be too obvious.

It will mount to the loadwarrior rack, not the yakima crossbars. I was woundering the same thing about the strength, but at that price I can use them somewhere else if they don't look strong enough. I'll post up some pictures this weekend...

I'll be interested in the results... I have a couple extra mini quick fists laying around, so I could potentially set up the same. Since I don't have the basket though, I'd be attaching the quick fist to the bottom of the L-brackets for the awning, then attaching the awning to the bracket, and lastly, the quick fists to the Yakima crossbars.

Not the cheapest solution, but definitely the strongest and could be taken on & off fairly quick with a 10mm ratchet. *Depending on skill-set using hand-tools

I strongly advise unless you intend to mount it & only use in a "stationary" scenario? (ie. not driving with it mounted) Use something that is strong. The amount of force your awning experiences at 65-80 mph is tremendous. Ask me how I know? I had a grade 8 bolt shear off while driving home from the mountains, leaving my awning hanging off the side of my truck on the 405 :fear:

The awning is literally a big sail on the side of your truck while driving. The longer the awning, the bigger the area wind will use as leverage to "rip off". Avoid anything quick-fist - rubber is definitely going to get someone killed if that thing flys off while you are commuting.
