Quick question about a lift!

Hey guys im new but i will introduce myself in another thread soon! I have a question about a lift for my 04 v6. Will this setup work:

- Front Bilstein 5100's for an FJ
- Front FJ springs
- Factory rear FJ Bilsteins
- Rear FJ springs
- Daystar 1.5" rear spacer for FJ

... I've searched but i didn't know if anyone used the front 5100's with the rear FJ bilsteins and how they worked together? I can get this stuff for a pretty decent price so i'm ready to pull the trigger whenever y'all give me the green light!

As for the lift, that should work. The fj bilstein shocks are speculated to be very similar to the 5100s, but that's just speculation. Just curious, why not get matching 5100 rear shocks? The longer 5100s are a much better match for a lifted rig.
 
i found the shocks in a package deal and he wont split them up... been lurking on here for a while and been watching the cool stuff you've been trying out with your suspension. Good to see a local! Im from Jonesboro, Ar!
 
That setup should work out fine, just won't see any improvements off road with that setup. If you don't mind me asking, how much for that setup? I'm in Little Rock, , not too far away.
 
Shocks- 320... front 5100s are brand new
FJ springs- 25 for all 4. missed some freebies by just a little bit!
Rear spacer- 20 new

I figure its a decent deal. My runner has 135k on it so the shocks need replacing and the coils probably squat a little now. The 5100s and fj springs might tighten everything back up enough and get me some clearance for the time being.
 
That's a very good deal on the fj coils! Suit yourself, but you can get brand new 5100s for less than $400 for the set. If you would rather, you can get the 5100 fronts for less than $200 and I have a set of the bilstein hds I can sell you. The hds are valved identical to the 5100s, just stock length. They've got about 15000 miles on them. If you could pick them up I would sell them for $50 our I can look into shopping them if you're interested, if not no big deal. Another question, do you currently have xreas?
 
They won't add any flex off road, but they'll be better matched to the front. No big deal either way, I'm just tired of them taking up space. not to steal your thread, but I went through 4 sets of rear shocks trying to find one that rode good. I have the OEM rear air system and for some reason I couldn't get good ride quality with any aftermarket shocks, I currently run the regular OEM rear shocks. So, I've ended up with various posts laying around that I have no intention of using.
 
will they be long enough with the added 1.5" spacer? Sorry for being so curious... Just trying to get a grip on the whole t4r suspension!
 
They won't be as good as the 5100s, but they'll definitely work. Tons of folks run spacer lifts with stock shocks and note no change in ride quality.
 
after doing some searching about the HDs on a couple of forums i think im just going to go with the 5100 rears... thanks for your help tho!
 
Since you're going to be lifted in the rear, that's the best option. I'm not going to push my parts off on anyone, I think you've made the right choice. If you're going to have a lift, you might as will have shocks that allow you to utilize it. I was just offering the hd shocks as a cheaper alternative to the stock fj bilsteins. Someone in another thread mentioned being able to get a full set of 5100s on Ebay for $300 shipped, very good deal if it's still available.
 
I found the set of 5100's for an 07-09 fj... are those the ones? Some of the part numbers match up with bilsteins website.

Bilsteins numbers for 4R:
Front-
24-186711
F4-BE5-C475-HO
F4-BE5-C475-H1

Rear-
33-187174
F4-BE5-E703-H0

... it said the longer ones are the old numbers. On ebay, the part numbers are BE5-C477-T1 for the front and BE5-E703-H0 on the rear but it says right under that "These shocks are equal to the Bilstein part #’s: BE5-C475-H1 (24-186711), BE5-E703-H0 (24-187174)". They are Bilstein/RCD 5100's if that makes any difference from the regular bilstein 5100's.
 
I purchased my 5100's from Offroad Warehouse for I thikn $340 shipped. They have a eBay page, just look them up. Awesome customer service and fast shipping. And they had them in stock, others at the time were having a difficult time finding them. Good luck and you're going to love the setup.
 
After some more research i found out that the difference in part numbers was due to them being bilstein/RCD 5100's and rcd tends to change part numbers slightly. 300 bucks to my door thank ya very much!
