Radiator fitment issues

I bought this radiator for my 97 3.4 auto and my brothers 99 3.4 auto off of amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0096B9PC8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I haven't installed it on mine yet and he took his to a shop to install it. They called him and said it is .5 inches too wide and hits the frame and won't fit.

I opened my box and took some measurements and it is 1 cm wider than the one currently on my truck. I looked at the space between the radiator and the frame on both sides of my truck and it seems tight.

Several reviewers on amazon said it fit fine. Any insights?

I too bought that radiator, back in 2013. It's definitely a little wider than stock, but it did fit with no modifications.

For me, I ran into issues with my mounting brackets for the Schrockworks bumper. The mounting brackets run along the inner side of the frame rails, and the extra width of the radiator meant that the bumper brackets didn't fit......requiring me to cut notches out of the radiator side mounts for the bumper brackets to slide through.

that's what happens with aftermarket parts. sometimes they work, most times they don't. camelback has the radiator for 150-160, at least they did a couple weeks back.

I have the same exact radiator and have about 11 mm (collective) clearance from the frame on both sides.

I purchased this for my 02 sport in July of 2017. Fit like a champ. Sorry about your troubles.

Also, from my understanding and previous research here, I thought this was OEM?

Has your brother's truck ever been in an accident? If it has smoked something hard enough it can make all the mounting points a little cattywampas.

I plan on installing one of these in March 2018. Wish me luck :)

One more bought in 2016 and came damaged and just like the OP I didn't realize it until I was putting it in. Also, fit very tight and had to do something with the side brackets, I can't quite remember, to make it fit.

With the price of the OEM from Camelback plus a couple of OEM hoses to get free shipping it's practically a no brainer to get OEM. $120

Unless you want to do away with the plastic crimped on tanks. This 3row one in mine was $202 and a two row one is around $160. It fit great and works great.
