Radiator Part Number

I have been searching for hours and can't figure this out. I'm getting myself confused now. I have a 2008 SR5 4.0L V6 (4x4) with auto transmission. I need to replace my leaking radiator. I think I want to go with Koyo but can't find the proper number. I believe the original OEM part number was 16400-31351 but has been superseded a few times to 16400-31354. The Koyo replacement for that number doesn't appear to fit my 4Runner. I went on the Koyorad site and come up with A2580, but also found some Koyo radiators ending in 31351 and 31353 that might fit.

So - what model Koyo radiator am I looking for?

Hey,

I work closely with Koyo themselves and also went with there replacement for my 2005 4.0. It will be A2580, should fit 03-09. I have it replaced in the 4runner for a bit and cannot complain!

Just in case a T4R owner comes across this topic and has the V8 engine the part number for a Koyo radiator for the V8 is A2581.

Thanks for the info as I'm looking for a radiator right now. Looks like Amazon has it for $173 but the pic doesn't exactly match reality. Mine doesn't have the two nipples for ATF at the bottom of my radiator like the pic shows.

If there's a better price somewhere else, let me know please. I'll take mine to a radiator shop tomorrow just to get an estimate for fixing leaks and the usual cleaning.

Koyo's website still says that the part number for your year model and the V8 is A2581, so I guess you would just cap off the nipples if you don't need them.

Sorry for not being clear. My ATF cooling nipples are on the side vs what that pic depicts.

Do you have the 5 speed or 4 speed transmission?

I think on early 2003s had the 4 speed and the later 2003s had the 5 speed, but I could be mistaken.

All V8s have a 5sp tranny, regardless of the year in the world of 4th gens.

Took the radiator to the radiator shop and the leaks are at the side tank gasket. They said that these radiators are basically disposable since they may not take a gasket replacement well. Given that this unit served me for 318xxx miles, I splurged on a new unit for $170 out the door. This is on par with the internet prices but I didn't get a Koyo unit, which is what I wanted. I'm about to go to Death Valley and didn't want the stress of not having a 100% operational engine.

On a side note, I was thinking about replacing the tank gasket myself as the process is pretty simple. But for the life of me, I couldn't find the tank gasket on the 'net.
