Whole center was cold, sides were hot. I did do a flush before I installed it so must have just been defective and failed prematurely.
I bought the autozone one, same as napa but cheaper. It has a lifetime over the counter exchange warranty at autozone. Sounds like a better deal than the ebay koyo. the autozone one fit just as fine if not better than the koyo.
koyo only has an 18 month warranty as I read their site now.... who expects a radiator to only last 18 months? - joke

I tried searching for PARKS radiator and did not come up with anything on google. Do you have a link to where you bought it. An all metal radiator would certainly be worth the 200 bucks!

I don't think they "bolt in" but you may be able to make it work as long as the hoses are in the same location. Look around for an under hood shot of a 2nd gen V-6 and compare it with yours. You may have to fab some mounting brackets, but I don't see why it wouldn't work if the hoses are in the same spot. You could probably make the tranny cooler work too with a little fabbing.

I went with a Denso because I trust the brand. I think I paid $175, but I feel confident in the part quality.

Any update on the PARKS all metal one? I would be interested in one of these. I might also do some measuring on my 3 core in my 90 pickup. If the mounting holes are similar in the core support, the thickness would be the next thing to check.

That would be a YES. Same design as the factory OEM ones.

Nothing. Keep in mind that the milkshake happens at 120K+ miles on a factory radiator. I doubt the milkshake would be a problem with a new radiator. I would probably run an external cooler inline with the factory cooler if I was running larger tires.

Not for normal people... (my 96 owners manual says nothing about replacing the rad) but, for people who live on Toyota forums like this one, yes it's completely normal.
And yes ARKRWLR a new Koyo could last forever, 120K or a week before milkshaking. Which is why I bypassed mine as soon as I put it in. I sleep well at night.
Reading all these "milkshake" threads are scary. I gotta get the radiator changed on the new to me 97 SR5. Was checking out various options and everyone seems to be recommending Koyo. Somewhere on the thread, the following link was recommended, supposedly called TYC but a rebranded Koyo - Amazon.com: TYC 1998 Toyota 4Runner 1-Row Plastic Aluminum Replacement Radiator: Automotive
However, the customer reviews state otherwise, not sure if it is really a Koyo, tempting price BTW.
