Radio and Nav System Rebooting

Had to take my 2015 SR5-P to the dealer today. Since my 15k mile visit, I've had a number of instances of the whole radio "module" freezing up and rebooting. It happened 3 times just today so off we went to the dealer. They said my software was out of date and needed an update installed. 2-3 minutes after starting up, the screen would freeze, the radio would stop and the phone would lose Bluetooth connectivity. It would go black and then back to the initial startup screen. When it came back it would prompt me with an overdue oil change warning even though that was done at 10k. Just thought I'd let everyone know in case others experienced it as well.

This happens to me still on a regular basis. 2014 TEP, 12k miles. Happens every 5th drive or so. I have the updated software, not sure how to fix it. Seems to be a common problem

How much data are you guys syncing to the headunits? TAS made a very odd comment to me last headunit I called in on that the customer may have filled up the memory and it was causing it to crash. They wanted me to clear the unit to factory settings and have the customer drive it with limited to no bluetooth usage and no syncing/downloading anything to verify it wasn't due to memory issues. I honestly thought it was an absurd excuse, but then again I don't recall how much internal memory/RAM these things actually have...

For me the answer is zero. I do not use anything but xm radio and regular radio. My cell phone is not even turned on 99% of the time.

But do you allow it to sync contacts, music, and other stuff from your phone when you paired it? Everytime I use my cellphone to pair to a customer's car for diagnostic purposes I get like 3~4 pop-ups asking for authorization to sync/copy data.

The dealer did something when we got the 4runner so that it recognized my wife and my phones. That is about all I know about it. As you can see I am not high tech and do not use the features. I would not even know or care to know how to receive a call or call someone with the 4runner. I guess I do not have that much to say or want to be bothered by it. I did try Pandora on my phone to listen to it in the 4runner but decided it was a waste of time since I had to have the phone on and have service which is limited in my area. Easier just to listen to XM.

My 2013 never locked up, but I have noticed if I have too many texts on my phone, the notification of new texts stops working.

Solution was to go and delete texts.
