Radio display

Any suggestions on the radio display. Everyone that owns a newer 4Runner knows that with the headlights on during the day renders the radio display useless. I really am not into aftermarket audio. I've contacted Toyota several times. I was very clear, I expected nothing for free, just needed to see the blue tooth and radio display. They offered no help whatsoever. A very political answer no campaign or recall, etc...In fact, their lack of any consideration is the reason I will never purchase another Toyota. This is my third 4Runner and I thought I was a Toyota man for life. After seven Honda/Acuras in a row I talked my Wife into a new Highlander. In all of those years of owning Honda we only had one issue (out of warranty with our MDX) and without even a phone call, Honda good willed the damaged part and all I paid was labor. Above and beyond. In all my years with Toyota I've never had any problems, until now and clearly they don't care at all. My next vehicle will definitely be a Honda.

seriously, you want to complain about the brightness of the radio display?

did you have your eyes checked? did you turn the little knob all the way to bright? did you try turning off your lights in the daytime??

ok, seriously, as a Honda guy (owned 2 Preludes and worked for Mile High Honda) I can say they are reliable, but not Toyota reliable.

lol, If i was toyota i would have thought you were trolling them with that complaint. It seems you solved your problem already, just drive with the headlights off during the day, it is debatable whether it is safer overall to have them on anyway. And if you are turned off by toyota's failure to deal with such a minor problem one whiney customer had, then you my friend are in for a surprise as most other manufacturers care even less than toyota does.

:lol: Well, 2 ways if I may suggest, (1) since it's daylight you don't have to use your headlights. unless of course, you're on a roadway that requires headlights to be turned on for several miles/kilometers. (2) there is a knob on the dash where you can adjust the brightness of all your dash lights including your radio display. Simple problems = simple solutions. Hope that helps.

the 5th gen radio display is horrible. dimmer switch doesn't make much difference in daylight. You won't be able to see the display with polarized sunglasses on. But that's a far cry from leaving toyota. Don't think there's a perfect vehicle out there, this is a just small inconvenience.
