Radio question

Hey all

I am wondering if a jbl head unit from a 2012 fj would fit in an 03 runner? I have the plane Jane radio in my truck and like the looks of this one and though it may sound better. Thanks for any help Maineiac

Just looking at radios for sale on ebay, several say that they will work for the 2003-2009 4Runners and 2007-2013 FJ Cruisers. Good chance it would fit, the FJ radios look good. Hopefully someone that has tried this will post.

Odds are it will. Radios for the most part are one of two universal sizes. Single DIN and Double DIN. One being twice as tall as the other. (There are some differences like the oval Ford Taurus' for example where the radio face was, you guessed it, oval.) The plugs may be different though so there may be some rewiring to be done. Not for sure on that though.
