I would like to add, for those who don't like adding any new holes to their vehicle, that there is a backup camera that is a straight swap for one of your license plate lights.
The exact camera I used was this one (there are several similar ones)

Also worth nothing that I did a "clean" install through my liftgate and needed an extra rca cable. The red line that runs through it is for a trigger wire which I connected at my taillight so that I did not need to tap any factory wires under the dash for a reverse signal.

That's the one I've been eyeballing! How do you like it so far? Did you connect the rearview camera to the reverse light wire in the taillight?

I confirmed in his other posts. It looks decent, not sure if you can change the backlight to orange like you can on the Joying units though... HTH

He's right, it's the OttoNavi unit. I love it. It was COMPLETELY plug and play and works great. Plus, it was half the price of the name brand ones. The only issues I've had is that the volume for the phone call on Bluetooth is VERY low. When you end the call, the radio comes on at full volume. As far as the backlight, I never tried to change anything but the background picture. If you're talking about the light used to illuminate the buttons, it's green, which is okay by me. The customer support center is terrific, and helped me get a new sim card for the map when mine didn't wanna load. I only wish it came with an actual user's manual. They are working on writing one, but it's a little late.
And I did mention that I have NOT installed the camera yet. But I do plan to wire the power thru the reverse light, and not under the dash.

Hey guys. Ordered a new touchscreen headunit. Having trouble figuring out which wiring harness/mounting brackets to purchase. Can we identify my stock unit.
It is 6 disc. It has RDS I'm guessing?But it's not flush. Mounted like some OEM head units I'm seeing.
I ordered a metra 95-8202 mounting bracket
And I ordered a metra 70-1761 wiring harness.
Did I get it right or mess up?

That looks right to me. You'll reuse the steel brackets off the side of the OEM radio, most likely.
This is what I will be ordering to solve my poor antenna reception since Pioneer HU insatalled.
1: Metra 40_UV43, Male to two female antenna adapter cable.
2: Scosche MDAB, converts smaller antenna cable to a normal size antenna cable.
This will allow me to connect both antenna cables to my new HU which presently only accepts one. I hope this will solve my problem.

I just ordered the Joying Android 6.2in screen unit for my car. Couldn't decide between that or the T10015, but it seemed cheaper to get this than the T10015 with all the adapters. It doesn't have HD radio or Sat Radio availability, but I'll make due. If I don't like it I got it on Amazon so it can go back and the antenna wires I did buy can be used on the T10015. Also ordered Alpine speakers so I will report back when I get it in, hopefully by Friday as I have a road trip to UT/CO coming up and it will give me time to test it all out.

I thought I'd like mirroring, but I find the head unit mounted too low from eye sight. Main intentions was to be able to use Google maps. I still just mount phone to windshield mount when traveling. The usb plug that allows for mirroring (along with HDMI) doesn't give enough juice to charge my Note3. The battery drains even when plugged in.
Axxera (made by DUAL) uses a DUAL app for mirroring controls if your phone is capable. Allows you to touch unit instead of phone screen, but its a bit laggy when trying to control by touching the head unit.
The other downfall is the unit doesn't allow for use of other functions (CD/Radio/USB) when in mirroring mode. Everything, sight and sound, has to go thru the phone. I don't use my phone for music storage so it makes it kinda annoying if I mirror Google Maps but have nothing to listen to. But for half the cost of the cheapest Android Auto double din, I'm ok with it and it sounds better than the stock unit on stock speakers.
Also might worth noting, it looks like Samsung killed off the MHL mirroring on phones newer than the S6.

Does anyone have feedback on using one of the Scion or OEM Nav head units vs. an aftermarket head unit with regards to sound quality only (assuming no aftermarket amp and stock speakers, coming from a non-jbl system)?
