[MENTION=92197]Ventil8[/MENTION] quick question about your setup. I see you get your PSI info, does that info come up because I assume you have the iMaestro link installed? I've been out of the 'audio game' for a long time and I assumed that type of information would only come up in newer cars and that the 4th gen didn't have that info available. However, I'm planning on installing a new HU shortly.
[MENTION=662959]xyrcncp[/MENTION] Yes, the PSI/temp info comes up because of the updated Maestro idatalink module. When I updated the head unit, i planned to use the old Maestro module that I was using to save money. Unfortunately, the Maestro module was not compatible with the newer CarPlay head unit that I bought. I bought the newer Maestro module for my HU and to my surprise, I was getting actual PSI/Temp numbers.
Thanks a lot for the info. :thumb3: I honestly had no idea the PSI/Temp numbers would report to a HU from our generation 4Rs

I don't think it works on 2003 and 2004 year models, only 2005 and onwards.

ATOTO A6 Pro for Toyota w/OBDII Bluetooth adapter and Metra TYTO-01 JBL amp harness. Steering wheel controls and OEM backup cam directly wired to the HU. No faceplate needed.

It’s an Android HU that can run apps from the google play store. Also does Apple carplay with an adapter you buy separately.
I have been trying to research as much as possible, but need some help. I just bought a 2005 Limited 4runner with JLB navi. The screen is black all the time so I assume the head unit is shot, although sound comes through.
I'm looking at my options now. I would like to use the factory rear view camera, but not sure how to get that to work with an aftermarket head unit. I have thought about buying a used jbl unit without the navi. Will that work? Can I put any jbl marked toyota head units in the 4runner since thats what I currently have?

This is the rats nest of wires and harnesses and adapters Crutchfield sold me to make this radio work. I confirmed everything worked before closing it all up. Buttoned everything up, and of course the backup camera doesn't work now. I made sure to tape the RCA jacks so it wouldn't come unplugged so I can only imagine what happened.

Did you have the JBL system?
Yes I have the JBL system. I've change radios on non JBL cars and it was pretty painless plug and play.

Anyone that has installed ATOTO or a similar Chinese head unit... do you have to buy a Mettra, PAC, or Masetro type adapter in order to retain steering wheel controls or JBL amp?
I have a JBL/non-nav 2008 factory setup. I ask because the Amazon listings seem to imply there is some built-in compatibility without buying an adapter, and I know when I go to Crutchfield to order a Pioneer etc. they make it very clear your SWC won't work without something like the PAC.

I have the ATOTO A6 Performance and didn't need anything for the steering wheel controls. You can directly wire it into the radio harness.
I have the JBL RDS stereo so had to buy the Metra TYTO-01 JBL Amplifier Interface Harness. My first one was defective. Would sometimes have no volume when starting my car. Would have to unplug it or remove the fuse to the wiring to reset it for it to work again.
The replacement has been working great.
I also used Metra 95-8210 Double DIN Installation Kit. But it was not a direct fit. I had to drill new holes to mount it to the ATOTO.
If I had to do it over, i'd probably look for a better installation kit. I'm not sure there is one out there, but the Metra 8210 was definitely not plug and play.

That's a huge help, thanks. I'm really wanting wireless carplay/AA and for whatever reason, the big manufacturers aren't releasing new budget options. The only sub-$500 ones I can find are Boss and Jensen, so I figure if I'm cheaping out I may as well go really cheap and go for the Atoto for $280-$380.

did you have to splice wires with that metra harness? or was it all plug & play?
