Ran it out of gas- problems now!

Well- like a complete IDIOT I pushed it too far today coming home from work and ran out of gas. I was super low on the way in this morning and meant to get it filled at work before leaving. Long day- I forgot. By the time I realized it and headed to the gas station it was too late.

Good thing is I was pretty close, so a quick call to a coworker and he towed me there with my strap. Filled it up- now it won't start. Cranks but no start. I disconnected the battery, checked fuses, all the normals...

Does anyone know if the fuel pump needs to be primed? Think I could have damaged it? I have run out of gas only once before in my S10 and it fired right back up.

WTF? I'm pretty pissed at myself right now!

Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ACC spot, you should hear the fuel pump run, you might need to suck the gas back into the system if you ran it dry. Repeat this process a few time before you try to actually start the rig.

I go in at 2:45- usually off by 1- but I was there until after 2 today. Been working those hours for years.

At the risk of being pounced on, if you can find the fuel line coming from the tank/pump to the engine you might try loosening it and switching the key on to purge the air out of the line. Then reattach and try again. I understood this to be a problem with injected systems 10 or so years ago, but I honestly don't know if it is still a valid work around or not.
