RARE FIND!!! 1980's OEM Toyota First Aid Kit

Ya Ok... you caught my bluff. :lmao: I made this out of an old first aid kit I had. First I peeled off all of the old markings on the box and sanded it down to give it a matte, old, and used look. After scuffing up some of the edges and the handle I moved on to making the cross. My dad machined the cross for me at work out of some plastic. The plastic was red half way through and the other half was white. So we just had to machine the outline of the letters so the TOYOTA was embossed. Afterward I sanded down the entire thing to remove the machining lines. I went up to 3000 grit sandpaper to make it nice and smooth. I then polished the thing by using some toothpaste and then rubbing it on a soft cloth for 30 minutes (this method I learned from my grandpa gives plastic like this a nice subtle polished look without it being too "shiny").

I think it looks pretty legit, let me know what you guys think. Now where do I hang it in my car? Also what medical supplies should I keep in it? I already put the basics in.

Keep a good stock of bandages, antiseptic wipes, gauze pads and first aid burn cream for boo-boos (most of which it looks like you have). Also, it wouldn't be a bad idea to keep some gloves, tweezers and a trauma bandage, AKA an Israeli bandage. I would keep the kit in an easily accessible place. I've seen some people that have had it attached to the back of their seats with a molle seat back cover. Mine is sitting in the rear cargo area.

Yep. That kits pretty great. I like the attention to detail. Will it slide under the drivers seat from the rear? There’s quite a bit of room in there.

I keep a metal first aid under there. In addition to the bandages, I keep deep woods bug repellent and some 30 SPF lotion. Both come in handy.

When we are out camping and stuff, I'm not going to be hurting for some band-aids. If I'm in a dire situation it's going to need something that is life-critical. My first-aid kit contains:

Gauze, lots of it
Gloves in case I'm treating someone else, I'm first aid and CPR certified
Medical tape
Scissors
Cold compress (I see you have one)
Ace bandage to hold said compress
Butterfly stitches, I've used these more than once for deep cuts
Burn cream, sister got a pan of hot oil flung on her once by accident while camping
Emergency radio/flashlight/USB charger

Things I wish I had in rear storage area:
Splint
Flare (just because I can get to my 4Runner doesn't mean I can drive it)

I keep other things like bug repellent and sunblock in my camping boxes but if you find yourself using it enough it's not a bad idea to keep it handy as well.

Yup, I got the gauze, scissors, and burn creams in there. You're right about the stitches, I need to add that.
