so the lady has a 98 SR5 with the 4cylinder, looking at around 207,xxx miles or something over that.
on wet mornings, like after it has rained that night, sometimes it will sputter as if it is going to die, or its misfiring. any thoughts on what the reason for that may be? someone told us possibly the distributor? but i really have no idea.
there are two issues with the air system. whether the heat/ac/vent/recycle is on we don't get any air out of it unless it is on the second setting of air. meaning that it has to be just above low air flow for any air to come out. I'm thinking the fan isn't turning when it is on low but i don't know why. and lastly there is a persistent rattle in the air system. sounds like it is coming from somewhere in the vents and i really don't want to tear off the whole dash and chase down a rattle.
so if i do get these issues figured out and look like a real boss to the GF, are there any shops or mechanics in Cincinnati that you can recommend with confidence?
