I have a 2014 Limited. Been noticing a rattle coming from the back of the truck esp when idling. Upon checking I noticed there is aluminum looking pan under the truck that somehow got loose. Further investigation looks like it is screwed at various places and one spot seems to have suffered corrosion and is dangling which is what is causing the rattling. Anyone know what this is called and whether it is easy to replace ? Alternatively what type of place fixes this? A body shop?

Thats a heat shield for your exhaust. Won't hurt anything by removing. Doing a quick search I couldn't track it down but I'm sure a replacement is out there somehwere.

You're lucky you saw it now. Mine came completely loose on a road trip and was dragging on my driveshaft. Needless to say, I noticed immediately and was like WTF is THAT??!!??
Pulled over, rearranged it just to get home. No dice, started dragging again 2 minutes later.
Pulled over second time and ripped it out of there bare handed (careful, it's sharp). Never gave it a second thought and I have been without it since. That was like almost 2 years ago.

any shop with a lift should be able to 1)pull it off or 2)replace it. you could ask them to take it off when you go in for anywork.

Mine fell off recently after some hard wheeling out in CO. It's been off for a few months and haven't seen any heat issues. It's also been cold, so that could be a moot point.
Aluminum heat shield + steel bolts + underbody location = prime candidate for galvanic corrosion. Not at all surprising that we're seeing these falling off.
I looked all over the parts diagrams for the truck and wasn't able to find any callouts for that heat shield. Not sure if someone with better access can find a PN but I'm guessing it's not normally a replaceable part.

Ya poorly done Toy. but yes off should be ok , I tried save mine with a larger washer worked for awhile then just shredded off so as ^^ stated !

Don't need a shop. Mine was done with 0 tools on the side of the road and no jack even needed. Now if you still have a couple bolts hanging on, either remove them or take a $10 pair of tin snips and cut it off on an angle before the bolts just so that they are each left holding only a tiny piece of the corner. As I said, it's sharp in places, wear gloves. Time and money saved.
You have to wrangle with it a bit to get it to come out but it's like an easy 10 minute job. It's soft enough you can bend it all around by hand.
I agree that you dont need a shop to do this but OP asked what kind of shop he would need to go to for this so it doesnt appear likely OP would be able to get under there and take it off.
I am going to try the washer fix. I also seem to have lost the nut. Any idea what size nut I would need?

I lost a heat shield on my FJ cruiser and wound up melting part of the plastic cargo area cover.
The two vehicles are very closely related, so I don’t know if it’s a big deal to lose heat shields or not.

I dunno guys. I have been ripping them off vehicles for 25 years and leaving them off. Never seen an issue related to them being gone. Even in an earlier Wrangler or Cherokee that has hot floors anyway.
Are they there for a reason? Yep. Are they worth your effort replacing? Not in my experience.
I had the same issue as well and i took it to the dealer and they said they would take a look at it. They said some heat shields really don't have to be attached if they fall off, but the one we are talking about is one that is important. The mechanic just essentially added a larger washer and sent me on the way $35 later. It wasn't that big of a deal. I just don't know why they make the shields sh&* quality. Same thing happened to my 11 Highlander.
