Hello
Well have posted before about two issue one was a rattle over the driver side roof and the other one was a creaking windshield, well the dealer found a tsb for the windshield the first time and place some noise dampers in the roof. But now the windshield still creaks and the roof still rattles.. Well I don't know what else to do, I guess Toyota quality is not what it use to be..

Yeah I've seen other posts about the rattle. Since 2004 I've listened to the rattle in my truck. I thought the 1st rattle I heard was the screw driver I kept in the driver's door. I figured the rattle in the back was coming from the bicycle wrench I kept in the rear storage compartment over the tire. Now that the warranty is up, I've discovered the screw driver and wrench had been removed I guess long ago.:bugeye:

As long as I don't hear the death rattle from my truck I'll be happy.

Hello
It's a 2008 with only 4000 miles on it..

Lovely...here's to hoping I don't have any of these kinds of problems...picking my 08 up tommorrow...

I think you can say this about most vehicles these days though...my 06 accord had rattles from basically day one too...do what I do...turn up the radio...

It's annoying but I think it is reality...

Cheers

Yea I would have to agree with you, my xterra never had a rattle until 45000 miles, my 4R started at 2500 it is bound to happen..

Yup, and some people who bought an xterra just like yours never had any, and some got rattles as they drove them off the lot...It's a crap shoot...

My luck I'll get a 4Runner that was put together by the Friday crew that started drinking mid afternoon before they got off shift...

:-)

Sorry to hear that , just because you have rattles does not mean Toyota is not what it used to be .

Issues and whatever happen with every vehicle. It will get taken care of just keep in their butt about it. One thing you can do is call Toyota and complain the dealer is not fixing it , thats a bad mark on them , when I did it man they were jumpin through hoops.

So true...if there was such a thing as a perfect auto manufacturer out there then everyone would only be buying from them...

Cheers

I actually have to give the dealer credit on this one they really tried to fix, that placed sound proofing materal inbetween the root and headliner and they fix the windshield the first time and claimed they could not hear the creaking in the windshield on the second time. But then again I can hear a bass jump 100 yards away too.. :)
Thx

Well my 2006 has 40,000 miles on it and it sounds like a safe inside. It's silent.

I think its silence might be why squeaks are so audible though. It filters out so much exterior noise that anything inside is easily heard.

I bought my '04 from Carmax. Was driving it and noticed an annoying rattle from the extreme rear of the car. Stopped and went around to the back and knocked around back there and found the rattle. Carmax had put their license plate frame on there and it was making the noise. I removed it and it has been dead quiet ever since.

Pfffft, rattles, nothing a can or two of Right Stuff foam won't cure!!!! :-P

JUST KIDDING, don't try that! *ponder* Hmm.... :biggrin2:
