Check out Koz's link. I've used Philips bulbs on my M3 for years and like them a lot from a cost/performance perspective. I think Silverstars are overpriced. There's a few on eBay but they're not much cheaper than buying them at Pepboys or AutoZone after shipping is factored in.

Personally, the stock lights are pretty damn good (and bright!).

It looks like koz's link is for the "Crystal Vision" series. I have found a best price so far of $39.95 for the silverstars on the web and I will look a bit more later this evening. If I happen to find a really good price then I will report back to this thread with a link.

Philips make really good bulbs so if I was going to buy new bulbs, those would be it. They're 25% cheaper than Silverstars and will be very similar.

eBay has a bunch of Silverstars in all sizes going for $20-$30 but shipping usually kills the deal for me.

I just outfitted the 4runner with PIAA's all around. These lights were expensive. I am so pissed at myself, because I had seen on this forum that everybody was going with silverstars. I am a person who thinks you get what you pay for. SO, I opted not to go with the silverstars. Long story short. I broke one of the PIAA's and replaced it with a silverstar cause I didn't want to dish out that kind of cash again for a bulbs. Result I think the silverstars are just as good if not better than the more expensive PIAA's. Bottom line save your dough if you are not going to do the true HID thing and get the Silverstars.

If you couldn't tell the difference between the PIAAs and the Silverstars, then you didn't get the Extreme White PIAAs. I have a pair of those in my fogs on my jeep with the silverstars in the hi/low beams. BIG difference in whiteness (PIAAs blow the SIlverstars away), and they are just as bright if not brighter too (55w). PIAA makes many different series of bulbs, though, so you might have a pair with a lower Kelvin rating that those Extreme whites...?

FYI: The PIAAs have lasted me 2 years now, and I drive with the fogs on all the time at night. They were $35/bulb.
