RC Trucks

Any body into RC scale crawlers or any other rc stuff? I have a traxxas slash 4x4 sct I used to play with when I was in colorado. there was a group of 4 or 5 of us that all had trucks and we would take'em out and race'em around. I'm thinking I want to get a crawler or a rock racer now just seeing if anyone has any opinions on any brands or specific trucks.

I was in the same boat as you just a few days ago. Have a Stampede and wanted to get something that could handle more terrain. I ended up pulling the trigger on an Axial Wraith Spawn after watching some youtube videos showing its capability. I haven't driven it yet unfortunately, as it won't be here until Monday, but I think it will be a good truck.

I used to be into them a lot more than I am now. I had everything from 1/10 scale street cars to a 1/5th scale hpi Baja. Nitro and electric. My favorite was an 1/8th scale ofna 9.5 violator that had a big block .28cc nitro engine. Took off like a rocket, would do 50+ mph with the 2 speed trans and would handle anything I threw at it without breaking.

I'm down to 2 sc trucks for me and the fiancee and a stampede for my son in law. My fiancee has an hpi blitz brushless and I have a kyosho Ultima sc brushless. My advise would be if it's just a hobby, stay with the big box names like traxxas, hpi, team associated and axial. Parts are at almost every hobby store and support is good for them. Kyosho is an awesome product but US support is limited and it sucks having to get parts ordered from across the pond.

I would stay away from the off brands like redcat racing. I've never dealt with them but a few years ago when I was into the hobby more, they seemed to be on the cheap side.

Im really looking at the Axial trucks. I just can't decide between the scx10 or the wraith, or the rr10 bomber. I just want one to take out and trail ride and do some crawling. not looking to enter any competitions or anything just something to play with.

Just picked up a axial yeti kit yesterday. It is the third axial kit I have built. If you want rock racing or crawling they are the brand to go with. They make some awesome little rigs.

The Vaterra 1972 Ford Bronco 4x4 Ascender is a new for me. I'm really liking it. I have yet to rock crawl it, can't wait. I had it in the snow and it did awesome.

Love all my Axials for sure, but thinking the Vaterra might become my best crawler.
