Re-Aim Headlights after lift?

Did anyone re-aim(lower) there headlights, after completing a lift?

I didn't. I seem to get a ton of people flashing their headlights at me at night, thinking I have my high beams on when I do not.

If so, how do I go about lowing the beam down toward the ground more?

Good job searching. Just a couple of notes:

Dan Stern Lighting has the specs on where to aim them at.

When adjusting, always start low and bring them up to the correct level. This takes slack into account so they don't change later.

I adjusted them last night. I adjusted them too low. Then adjusted them up again.

This weekend I'll take the time to actually do it correctly, instead of guessing, with marking a wall and using a tape measure.

I didn't word it very well. With the 5100's set to their top setting (2.5"), does anyone know about how many turns/clicks adjusts the lights correctly? I ask because there was a thread on the FJC forum that gave this info based on how much lift you installed. Didn't know if someone had a basic idea or not.

You're better off following one of the guides for correct alignment based on parking a certain distance from a wall and adjusting the cut off height with the lights shining at said wall.

Is this sop for having a lift? I didn't reset mine and they seem better than ever for illuminating. I've never been flashed by any oncoming. Maybe depends on the lift.

That's a big "dah". Of course it's SOP when you lift and of course it illuminates better (more) cause it's aimed too high. It still may be acceptable but at least check.

depends on the lift.

if the rear goes up higher than the front, they will be low...


there are so many different variations and amounts of lift, you would have to take each rig on a case by case basis.

Right. Mine is equal lift front and rear, very level. I think my night vision is great, no complaints. If I was getting flashed a lot then I'd know it was an issue for others, but I'm inclined to not fix what ain't broke.
Side note: it always seems to me that low beams tend to point a tad to the right side anyway which keeps them out of oncoming traffic for the most part. Being lifted doesn't change that.
